I finally caught this episode on FOX's rerun of it this past Sunday.

Wow! Watching it was like deja vu all over again because I had just watched the Woody Allen film Play It Again, Sam just a couple of days before, and this episode was like a loose remake of that movie, with a couple of scenes being almost exactly remade. (Of course, the whole thing wasn't an exact remake, though.)

Family Guy -- "The Former Life Of Brian" -- 04/27/08

"The Former Life of Brian"
Spoiler:
Brian, afraid that he may have lost his last chance at love, searches for a former flame, Tracy. To his surprise, he discovers that he is the father to her son, Dylan. Tracy decides that Brian should raise the boy, and she drops him off at the Griffin's house. When Dylan runs rough-shot in the house, Brian's attitude towards parenting doesn't settle too well with Lois and Peter.

I'm still in tears after the evil monkey scene. Haven't laughed like that since the ipecac episode. WHO WANTS CHOWDER!!!

"You can even split me in half."
"What?"
"Saw me in half."

The Matthew McConaughey scene was GOLD.

TheKing 04-27-08 11:10 PM

"Soooooo, you do go all the way?"

Also loved the mexican funeral scene.

MrX 04-28-08 01:10 AM

"Got my tea cup here, now alls I need is a teabag. Is that something that interests you my friend?"

The evil monkey scene and the playing of "La Cucaracha" at the Mexican funeral were also great

Split me in half had me ROFL but there were many great lines tonight.

Charlie Goose 04-28-08 08:52 AM

The two American-sounding foreign guys was funny too.

I actually said to my brother right before this line, "How can a dog and a woman have a human baby"?

Solid episode.

Mercury&Solace 04-28-08 02:33 PM

Peter "Lois, shut your vag"

wergo 04-28-08 09:09 PM

When they saw Brian's ex, I actually expected Stewie to shout "You dated Britney Spears!!"

vedderstapp 04-30-08 04:22 AM

I'm no rabid fan or anything, but when did they make the baby gay?

Pretty much at the beginning of the series (or possibly starting in season 2). He's playing both teams accordingly.

True but he was WAY gay in this particular episode. I liked the return of the blonde wig and cocktail dress from "Deep Throats" (Season: 4 Episode: 23):

Stewie: Hey Brian, just a shot in the dark here, but do you want to do something sometime?

I also forgot the Wizard of Oz reference:

Dorothy: And I think I'll miss you most of all Scarecrow
...
Tin Man: You know, that's like cutting a huge fart and walking out of the room. And THAT'S how we'll remember you... as a big fart.
Lion: Goodbye Big Fart.

The ending was great

CPA-ESQ. 05-05-08 08:40 AM

Not a strong episode overall

BUT

Peter trying to scoop up that frog had me in tears  (Who hasn't tried to scoop up a dead animal without touching it and had this happen)

Charlie Goose 05-05-08 09:18 AM

I laughed at the (evil) Michael J. Fox as Zorro gag.
