Anyone notice after the episode ended there was an anti-drug ad? I wonder if this was an agreement they had to make in order for the episode to air.

No longer than any of the other musical sequences, at least this one was plot relevant (I'm looking at you, Shipoopi and Conway Twitty.)

The stoned newscasters going to Ollie with the weather and his "not so bad" response had me laughing the most ...

I don't watch this show any longer but it was on last night and I was at Stewie praising Brian's novel through clenched teeth. Such an awesome running gag.

It was an OK episode but the only time I actually laughed out loud was the final shot of the show.
Paraphrasing:
Quagmire: "I'm now offering a $50 reward if anyone knows anything about the disappearance of James. No questions asked."
Peter: "I killed your cat" *snatches the money and slams the door*

the funniest part for me was Peter's Hitler anti-marijuana ad, mostly due to the narration

Maybe it's because I had a long day, but I thought it was an great episode. The photoshopped back cover with Brian having ripped arms and that Sears Portrait pose was hilarious! Loved the musical number which was strange because I normally don't like them; might be because of the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang connection.

The cat thing was over the top and unnecessary. It clearly didn't bother me as much as it did your girlfriend, bit I am finding the cruelty to small animals in Seth's cartoons is really starting to go from just not funny to downright creepy and disturbing. I've never laughed once at such a "gag" and wonder about people who do find that funny (and prefer to not know, thanks.)

I missed the bit about Joe's son.
