Looks like we finally have an update. I'm guessing this is the new BAU set.

Rather than re-subscribe to Paramount+, think I'm content with waiting to watch once it's release on DVD. But glad it's coming back.

After more than a year of on- and off- deal making, Paramount+ has given a formal 10-episode series order to a Criminal Minds revival starring six fan favorite cast members, Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler and Paget Brewster. Also back is the series’ longtime executive producer/showrunner Erica Messer who closed her deal to return earlier a couple of months ago. The actors’ contracts had been contingent on Messer signing a pact with ABC Signature where she is under an overall deal.As Deadline reported exclusively, by February, Criminal Minds studios ABC Signature and CBS Studios had reached a license agreement with Paramount+ for a 10-episode new season of Criminal Minds. The last several months were spent getting Messer and the cast officially on board, triggering a formal green light, with production slated to begin Aug. 21 in Los Angeles. Mantegna teased the shoot on Twitter with a picture of him on a soundstage “doing a little inspection today for an upcoming project” and #criminalminds.
Mantegna, Vangsness, Rodriguez, Cook, Tyler and Brewster represent the majority of Criminal Minds’ cast in its 15th and final season. As Deadline reported in February, missing from the list are original cast member Matthew Gray Gubler, who had indicated that he was ready to move on after playing Spencer Reid for 15 years, and Daniel Henney, who stars in The Wheel Of Time. The Prime Video series, which films in Prague, and any potential Henney guest appearance on Criminal Minds would be subject to his commitment to Wheel Of Time and scheduling.
Deadline previously reported that the actors’ agreements for Criminal Minds are multi-year and are not fully exclusive, with the cast members able to do major recurring roles on ongoing series and series regular parts on limited series if production does not interfere.

Plot details released. It's indeed a serialized storyline

According to the streamer, the upcoming revival — which TVLine reported Wednesday has received a 10-episode series order — will find the team battling “their greatest threat yet — an UnSub who has used the pandemic to build a network of other serial killers.”
When the quasi-16th season begins, that network has gone “operational” and the team “must hunt them down, one murder at a time.”

Paget Brewster is going grey as Prentiss in the new season. She said previously the studio and producers okayed her not coloring her hair.

Saracen is going to be the season long bad guy? Interesting choice.
Were there any major changes to the show in the last couple seasons? I stopped watching before they swapped Shemar for the guy from CSI Miami.

Re: Criminal Minds (Moving to Paramount +)
But, there were several cast changes through the years you missed. .
Damon Gupton was added as a series regular 5 years ago, but was killed off. He replaced Gibson after he was fired.
Aisha Tyler was also added as a series regular and has stayed on.
Daniel Henney, who played Matt Simmons on Criminal Minds Beyond Borders was added as a series regular in the last couple of seasons after Beyond Borders was cancelled. But, he was unavailable here because he's a regular on Wheel of Time.
Mantegna's Rossi got married in the final season. Gail O'Grady played his wife. He was talking retirement in the final season, but changed his mind.
Shemar Moore returned for 1 episode while he was working on SWAT. It was basically for one scene.
Prentiss is now the boss.
Matthew Gray Gubler chose to not return.

Thanks! If Prentiss is the boss, what will Rossi be?
Didn't realize Reid wasn't coming back either.

Re: Criminal Minds (Moving to Paramount +)
Disappointed that Reid is not coming back, but super excited that most of the latest cast is. Kristen Vangsness is technically the only OG cast member left, but AJ Cook is pretty damn close. Hopefully we will get some surprise cameos from some of the other members of the team that they've had over the years.

I'm in.
Along with being darker (and assuming more graphic violence), wonder if any f-bombs will be dropped as well (like SEAL Team).

and for those curious, this is not planned as a one and done season. The cast signed on for multiple seasons should it get more.

Re: Criminal Minds (Moving to Paramount +)
I think they should stay true to the characters and the tone of the show. They should use the freedom streaming gives to them storywise, they don't have to tell a closed story in every epsiode, but regarding violence Criminal Minds was always pretty gruesome, a lot was left to imagination, but they had their fair share of torture porn in there and since it's an American show, violence isn't a problem, language and nudity are.
So I'm hoping for Russo full frontal.
