Re: Shark Tank (ABC) -- Series Thread Part II

I just thought of death the entire time of the Sway. Could be because I work in the auto insurance business and look at motorcycles the same way.

The Gato Cafe was by far one of the dumbest ideas to ever grace the Shark Tank stage. I was stunned when GoPro guy (Did I tell you he started GoPro? GoPro was his idea. Did I mention he started GoPro?) showed so much interest in it...but of course passed on it.

The cat/pet cafe is a business you might be able get to work in some of the richer suburbs of America, but it's not a Shark Tank business at all.

Cat cafes are a trend. Here's an article on one opening in DC that mentions that there are cat cafes open or in the works in Oakland, New York, Denver, and SF.

That said, I don't think it's a Shark Tank business at all.

I just wanted to hear her say, "Who wants to invest in my cat house?"

I really wish they would cool it on all the varieties of pet food. Are there really this many people interested in baking food for their dogs?

I don't bake for myself, why would I bake for my [imaginary] dog? I'll bake him invisible treats. He'll like those.

I am OK with all of the guest sharks that they have been bringing on, other than Bethenny Frankel. I hate her. She is such a self-absorbed bitch. I am now at a place where I cannot watch any episode she is on.

I want to start a dog food brand that comes in the flavors dogs crave: dead birds, garbage, and cat shit.

”Why are you feeding your dog prime rib and lemon grass? Yesterday he picked up a dead sparrow out of the yard and carried it into your living room. He rips open garbage bags and rolls in runny cat shit.”

I felt bad for that dog with the vegan owner an episode or 2 back.

Love how they basically laughed those 2 idiot women with the dress-exchange 'company' off the set for their $8M valuation.

It was clear they were just promoting their business and weren’t actually looking for a deal. Half of the show is like that now anyways.

Is Frankel that Real Housewives person? Whoever that is, is intolerable. I also can't stand the Spanks woman and that Kutscher nobody. They should only have people on the panel who have credibility as businesspeople.

Kutcher co-founded a venture capital firm and Frankel sold her old company for $100 million, so I think they would both qualify

When Lori told the SilkRoll ladies "you have a big ask," I thought she said something else.

Ridiculous valuation on that dress exchange business by those ladies. I've watched since the beginning. Shark Tank just isn't doing it for me anymore. There are too many gimmicky pitches and every business going in now knows the sharks too well.

Reality shows fall apart as the audience itself starts becoming contestants, which is definitely what is happening here.

Same here. I end up fast forwarding through about half of each episode now. As soon as the women said their ask, I knew it was going nowhere and FF'd through the rest of their screen time. The products themselves are no longer very interesting; just variants of things we've already seen.

Plus the sharks are not committed to following through with the deals they make so what’s the point?
