On Wednesday night's episode Amanda declared that she and McCrae were the most successful Big Brother romantic couple in show history. On Thursday, Amanda left in seventh place. These couples were all more successful:

Now, it is true that none of these couples had the sheer volume of sex that Amanda and McCrae had in the house, but they all coupled up in the house and either hooked up inside the house or outside the house after the game.


Glad Amanda left tonight. Not only b/c she's just nasty, but also the completely blatant attempt by the DR to try to get her to stay was ridiculous. Elissa goes into the DR loyal to GM and Judd (whether they were loyal to her or not) and comes out of the DR and gives Amanda her wedding ring. OK.

Technically Amanda might be correct although season 3 and 2 might be the most succesful since it featured someone in a romance winning even though Will-Shannon Lisa-firefighter guy ended after their seasons were over.


I really doubt the Producers were trying to save Amanda since it would just have been easier to just create a veto McCrae couldn't win since he was the Exterminators target.

It was completely disgusting that Julie treated Amanda so nice compared to how horribly she treated Aaryn in her exit interview.

Mostly because all of the stuff everyone else said in the house never got aired. Neither Gina-Marie or Spencer will get questioned about there behavior either.

For winners, you missed Hayden and Kristen though he dropped her the second she walked out the door. And, obviously, there is Rachel and Brendan.

Whether both parties considered them real all of the ones I listed were "showmances". It might not have meant anything to Boogie, but that still was Erika going down on him. Shane and Danielle didn't hook up until after the show, but they were "coupled up" during the show.

I consider Eric/Jessica more successful considering how handcuffed he had to play. He controlled the game w/o the benefit of a third nominee.

That was horrible to sit through. While I don't agree with his decision to evict Elissa, I am glad that McCrae was the one person who actually knew Andy was lying. Again, Andy isn't even a good liar, he's benefited far more from blunders than his own efforts.

They didn't even show ANY of the trash-talking, which has been most of what's been going on in the house. I guess from this show and since Julie made Aaryn the scapegoat and there's so little interest in the final 5, they want to try and make things as positive as possible for the television viewers that are left.

That said, they really didn't go out of their way to tip their hands about who they want to give the hero edit to down the stretch. No one looked particularly bad and no one really stood out. It's almost sleep inducing watching the Nerd Herd version 2.0.

I've been reading Joker's Updates, and it seems like they just go on and on bashing Elissa in the harshest way possible, -GM's comment about her son being the most vile, -and they each go on and on about how much it will kill them, make their heads explode, etc., if Elissa wins the audience prize. Now while I have no great love for Elissa, I know where my votes going, -just because it will stick to the other houseguests.

I think they think what Aaryn believed before she was evicted. She knew (I am positive the producers at least tipped her off a bit) that the racist thing was going to come up and she even "prepared" what she was going to say. What she said to Julie was something I'd heard her practicing in the house even before she that close to leaving.

She just had no idea that it was going to be so bad.

I think that group in there thinks they're beloved by a lot of people who think they're awesome for the game the played and how "better people" they were than Aaryn, Jeremy, Kaitlin, Amanda and Elissa (who they couldn't be more wrong about) and that America is going to adore them. Also, they seem to talk about how cool it will be to have "haters" and "stalkers" but I don't think they really have any clue.

Besides, it's not like the fans of this show are going to chase down Spencer to hassle him. When they get out, they're going to find out they were the least popular people in the house. GM, Andy and Spencer for a very long time and all the bashing they are doing, especially of Elissa, shows they are just as nasty as anyone else that played. I mean, it's like non-stop about Elissa and it's really not just name-calling, it's pretty vulgar and mean stuff. So, their legacy will be just how disliked they were. GM will be out of a job and she'll never get Nick...assuming Nick is into women anyway. Spencer will be out of a job most likely, but where he lives he'll be a hero no matter what. Judd really went from pretty high to pretty low, but he will likely come out of this unscathed. I'm not even sure what to say about McCrae.

The funny thing is, Elissa, was probably the most honest person in the house. Now in BB that's not always a good thing, but she was herself pretty much the whole time and, while that sucked for her game-play because she's so different than everyone else and really didn't try to fit in, she actually got lucky to be cast during a season where pretty much everyone else were horrible people. Made her look a lot better than she would have if the cast had had a better mix or just not been such crazies this season. In a way, I think they're jealous she never went down to their level and was always herself, something they can't do and they REALLY hate her for it.

But, other than the winner and kind of the runner-up, it will not matter what they think or how much they might want to believe it was her edit or that things "were taken out of context" or that the Brenchel Army was always going to be for Elissa. That certainly has helped, but mostly their vulgar behavior is why Elissa is going to get a check for 25k on finale night and Spencer is going to poop on the stage

The good news, maybe? Rumors that Grodner is kind of being "forced" out. If true, it might be good for BB to get a jump start (as long as they go back to mostly honest casting), but people like Grodner never stop making crappy television, so she will take her millions, if she leaves, and find a way to make many more with crappy shows like the one she's practically caused to run aground this season.

I'm curious to see the ratings this season, particularly for episodes after the final 5 was established, to see if there's any actual real-world substance to all of the internet complaints.

Question: Big Brother is ending in less than two weeks. With only five players left, there is a possibility of a controversial contestant winning first or second place. GinaMarie was fired from her job for using the "N"-word and making racial comments, and Spencer made racially insensitive remarks and joked about child pornography. If either or both of these players make it to the finals and somehow win, how would this impact the show's future and the reputation of CBS? — KM

Matt Roush: You're not knocking on a very sympathetic door here. If CBS really cared about its reputation, this wretched show would no longer exist. But since it does, and will continue to do so as long as Julie Chen (who has a fair amount of clout at this network) is involved and the demographics hold up, the real issue here is whether this year's heinous casting will backfire on more than just the current participants. My guess is that it won't, and likely will go forward with the bottom-feeding producers seeking ever more outrageous contestants for future seasons, all of whom have been weaned on this sort of programming, knowing going in that the real goal is to earn as much face time as possible, which means making noise. I suppose this year's fallout may be a cautionary tale for future casts to keep their racist and homophobic opinions to themselves, which would be a plus. But not much of one.

I think Matt Roush needs to drop the diplomatic act, and give us his straight opinion.

I think that if this showing is still going five years from now we will practically be looking at the Hunger Games. I can think of a lot of things I'd do for a large sum of cash, but act like these fools isn't really on the list. The end players this go round are pretty disappointing. Yes, the fact that Elissa has been number 1 on the Jokers poll for about 40+ days and that people who don't even really like Elissa that much are saying they plan to vote for her, definitely suggests BB will need to rig things for her to win.

Judd was a complete buffoon, but he's definitely got a good heart and I can see why he has fans. That said, he was actually worse at the game than Elissa...and Elissa wasn't a very good player.

Yes, I do think I like Elissa, but if you bothered to stop being so offensive for a moment and actually read the threads throughout the season, you'd see that I've been consistent in stating that Elissa has risen to the top, not particularly because she's a wonderful player and fun houseguest, but because this has been a particularly ugly season and Elissa was classy all the way to the end. I get the show will have some nastiness, but the moment the racist stuff started, she was the only one who said anything and that was one of many reasons she never really fit in. And, along with GM (pig that she is), she probably kept her word more than anyone else who went deep into the game.

They're doing some kind of "revealing secrets" thing on Julie Chen's talk show, and her secret was... that she had plastic surgery. I didn't think this was that big of a secret (although I guess the reason behind it, that her eyes were "too small" is new... though I thought it was all in the nose)
