Yay!! Glad they started filming already. Jon Cassar said on Twitter they were starting on Sunday, but hey the sooner the better.

I like how everything is an "event series" on broadcast when it's not the traditional 22 or more episodes.

Damn, Keifer's looking haggard. Looks more like a stunt double than him.

The production photos from the previous page are not from the actual filming of the season. According to Cassar on Twitter, they are from a promotional video shoot. Principal photography begins Sunday as I already mentioned.
Hopefully we'll see the promo during the Super Bowl.

FOX should do some kind of recap show leading up to the new episodes - I have all the seasons on DVD, but don't have the time (pardon the pun) to watch them all before this comes back. I honestly can't remember what happened when we last left Jack, other than he was on the run again.

What's the point of that? Unless they're going to bring back old plot-points (which would be almost a spoiler if presented in a recap), there's absolutely no reason, since each season was basically self-contained.

yea...and something like 18/20 years have passed in the timeline... so he is supposed to be like pushing 60 now?

This is what I saw from the 24 wiki page. Jack previously mentioned he was born in 1966.
Season 1: Early 2000's (Election Year)
Season 2: Mid 2001 (Approx 18 months later)
24: The Game: Around 2003
Season 3: Approx 2004 (3 years after season 2)
Season 4: Approx 2006 (18 months after season 3)
Season 5: Approx 2007
Season 6: Approx 2009
24: Redemption: 44 months after season 6. Approx 2012?
Season 7: Jack returns from Africa. Approx 2013
Season 8: Approx 18 months after season 7. Around 2014
Live Another Day: 4 years after the events of season 8. Around 2018
Jack would be roughly 52 years old.

How old was Kim supposed to be? I thought she was 18 in the first season, but if Jack was 34, then that means he was 16 when he had her? Kim was working at CTU in season 3, and she would have to be 21 or 22 then because she would have to have a college degree by then.

He's 36 in Day 1 and she was 16. And if you think she got the job based on education and not who her daddy is then I have a cougar to sell you.

re: 24: Live Another Day - 5/5/14

I know her dad's influence is 99% of the reason she got the job at CTU. Still though there are the most basic of qualifications, and I doubt CTU would hire anyone without a college degree. She could have been a C student with a Liberal Arts degree, and Jack could have gotten her the job just so long as she actually had a degree.

Season 3 Palmer was up for re-election if you recall, which would make that around 2004 and he decided to not run again.
When we pick things up in season 4, John Keeler was already President.

re: 24: Live Another Day - 5/5/14
It wouldn't make sense for season 1 to be set in 2002. David Palmer was running for President and it would have to be an even year (2000) in the current system.
Season 3 Palmer was up for re-election if you recall, which would make that around 2004 and he decided to not run again.
When we pick things up in season 4, John Keeler was already President.

I'm just taking this straight from the wiki:http://24.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline
On the above (speculative) timeline, the Presidents on 24 served for the following terms:
David Palmer: January 2003 – January 2007
James Prescott (acting): September 2003 – March 2004
John Keeler: January 2007 – March 2008 (removed from office)
Charles Logan: March 2008 – September 2009 (removed from office)
Hal Gardner (presumed): September 2009 – January 2011
Wayne Palmer: January 2011 – May 2011 (assassinated)
Noah Daniels: May 2011 – January 2015
Allison Taylor: January 2015 – September 2016 (resigned)
Mitchell Hayworth (presumed): September 2016 –

Hmmm, some very inconsistent writing on that 24 wiki page.I read each Day synopsis for it's timeline and it doesn't jive at all with that list of the Presidents and their time in office.

re: 24: Live Another Day - 5/5/14
It was inconsistent writing on the writer's part as well. The big thing that throws you is when you found out Jack's birthday year.

Yeah, that timeline is crap. I think by the time season 7 ended (and based on real election cycles) it was around 2020 or something crazy.

Wasn't John Keeler removed from office by having his plane crash into a mountainside or something?
