In the back of a Volkswagen?

Looks like they used this episode to reintroduce the people that didn't appear last ep.

Thanks to Yahoo for having a story saying that's the kid from Love Actually. His face hasn't changed.

Cool to see that Brienne seems to be Jamie's equal in swordplay.

Diana Rigg certainly knocked that out of the park.

It appears that Isaac Hempstead-Wright is going to grow faster than they can make the show. It's kind of funny that his actual age is what Rob was supposed to be in the first season.

Awesome to see Lady Olenna and the Reeds come to life.

That scene with Margarey, Olenna and Sansa is one of my favorites from the book, because for the first time the women seem more powerful than the ruling men. Cersei's scheming aside, that hasn't really happened much. And Sansa definitely needs some friends

True, but he had no stamina and started to get taken down halfway through the fight. She ended up kicking him, smacking him, and then finished him off with one hand.

Kind of like my first dates.

Bran looks pretty old now. A lot of new characters in this with names i'll never be able to spell or pronounce, but happy with how things are moving along. Some nice dialog with Tyrion and his whore, Sansa and the old lady, and Joffrey about Renly. Enjoyed all of those quite a bit.

Shae is getting highly annoying, although maybe I'm projecting her character from the books.

Reeds and Diana Rigg were excellent.

Also interesting to see Theon returning so soon, didn't expect that

Re: The person/persons holding Theon captive...

Spoiler:
Did they kind of give that away, where you saw the Bolton banners with a flayed man tied to a big "X" and Theon's captors have him strapped to the same kind of structure?

I don't think they were trying to keep his location secret.

We know whats up but I doubt most people will.

I don't read the novels (yet), so perhaps someone who has can let us know how "important" most of the scenes were last night, but it certainly felt like a lot of "filler" to me. Not sure the scenes in King's Landing or north of the great wall did anything to advance the plot. Seems like only the scenes with Bran, Arya, and Jaime were of any importance.

Guess the writers had to use whatever line of dialogue they had lying around.

Spoilered just in case, but this is just natural progression from the end of season 2...

Spoiler:
I don't think anyone who's been paying attention should think it's anyone but "Roose Bolton's bastard at the Dreadfort". That was all they talked about last season and then the siege happened with Theon cursing the horn-blower outside the gates. He then gives his rousing speech to the Iron Born only to be knocked out by Dagmer and handed over so the rest of them can go home safely per Robb's deal.

If you don't think it's Bolton's men who has him, you're just not paying attention, book reader or not.

Actual spoiler:
Spoiler:
What they are keeping close to their chest, however, is that the boy who was sweeping up and offered to help him is clearly Ramsay setting him up to be a sadist's plaything.

More on Greyjoy and his captors...

Spoiler:
Yeah, I'm familiar with the books and knew that the Bolton bastard and his men are the one who sacked Winterfell and took Theon, but they have been very cagey with that information. They've dropped a couple of clues in the second season that the "bastard of Dreadfort" was going to Winterfell, but I'd wager that most viewers who haven't read the books would pick up on that. They probably don't even remember Roose Bolton or know his name, thinking he's just a throwaway character making throwaway references.

Just curious, but have any of the non-book readers figured out what happened to Winterfell and Theon Greyjoy?

Re: Game of Thrones -- "Dark Wings, Dark Words" -- 4/07/13

From my understanding Theon's men didn't respect him as a leader, betrayed him and gave him up in order to return home safely to the Iron Islands. Theon's now being tortured by a group who sides with Robb Stark/Winterfell. Winterfell is now back under control of Robb/his allies.

Hope that's right.

That is all that is apparent to me. If there is more, then no I'm not seeing it.

Er, Joffrey lives in a different world than ours.

^ Haven't read the books, but it's starting to look obvious that besides Joffrey being The Mad King reincarnated he will probably be gay or just asexual. Notice in any of the last two seasons when hot women (whores or whoever) are at his presence, he's totally disinterested in them. Last night's episode had that hot little number (Margaery Tyrell ) with the tits at full display and all Joffrey does is curl his lip as if to say "ew, ew, ew, women, tits, ew."

Even if the Scenes feel like filler, they are not really, all of them 'builds' on the different plot points and story progressions.

Am I the only one who though the scene between Shae and Tyrion was horribly written and acted? Stuck out like a sore thumb. I started having Attack of the Clones flashbacks.

It is a good thing that Bran grew up between season 2 and 3, any potential shipping with Bran and Meera no longer feels completely weird lol
