Yeah, I don't get the thumbs down either.

As for why they would leave the prison, I imagine food will be the biggest one short of making farm land there.

It's going to be a hot, miserable summer, and a cold, miserable winter at the prison. Considering lack of cooling and lack of heat in a climate that has extremes in all seasons, I'd say they should pick up stakes and go West. The desert climate is hot, yes, but it's a dry heat, and is much more tolerable than the humidity found in Georgia.

Or go to the Florida keys - no harsh winters, live near the shore so you can fish and swim in the hot summer. There's no conceivable reason to stay in a climate that has cold, unforgiving weather.

If they headed out west, the Hoover Dam would still be generating electricity. Las Vegas would still have power unless humans had cut the electrical lines. Life After People taught me that.

Not sure how you would grow food in that arid environment though. Tropical Island sounds like better resources. Coconuts, tropical fruit and fish.

Yeah, they can't seem to run into a town for formula without getting fucked up. I don't think a cross-country journey into parts unknown is in the cards.

Hey Little Buddy.

The show WILL be Gilligan's Island if they leave. Always so close, yet so far. Everything gets reset to zero by the end. Married With Children always did it too. It made for funny TV, but was very gut wrenching.

Gasoline still works over a year into this thing and the Hyundai is always detailed and in mint condition. We need a road trip!

Yes, I mentioned the names (I guess you didnt notice). It was a list of all female names and Penny's name was the last one. I highly doubt the slashes represented killed walkers.

Any reason why? He updated the book after they had just killed some walkers. There is an incredibly higher ratio of slashes to people's names. About the same ratio of walkers to humans.

A lot of reasons. If in fact the slashes do represent the number of zombies he killed, there are much more easier ways to keep track that make more sense. I find it hard to believe he would count each walker he killed as he was killing them. Alot of the time they were in herds so I cant believe someone would be calm enough to keep a count when there are hundreds around you trying to kill you.

I was mistaken. Some names on the list were male names also. I'm assuming this is a list of people he knew that were killed by walkers.

Disappointing finale to what was arguably a pretty well done season.
Ugh.

Back to the notepad. There are some theories floating out there that he was keeping a record of the people he knew who died and stopped recording their names once Penny died. The names just became slashes in the notebook, showing his crossing over from the man he used to be. Penny's initial death and turning is the breaking point for the Governor at least with the death tracking in the notebook.

According to some zombie lore, zombies don't do well at all in cold climates. If anything, they should move north, not west.

Walkers aren't Swimmers, so go to an island.

I always took the slashes to be nothing - just the sign of a guy going crazy, like The Shining's "All work and no play makes jack a dull boy".

That was my thought as well.

Re: The Walking Dead -- Season Finale -- "Welcome to the Tombs" -- 3/31/13

Are we sure Penny was his daughter? If he only told that to Andrea he was probably lying.

I'm thinking its a list of his former students and he was a teacher or bus driver or something when the zpocalypse broke out. Total guess. Probably wrong, but it would make his characters' fall into madness more interesting.

Spoiler:
yes, I've read the comics but the show is different

What if they're also Waders.

That said, in such a situation, small islands would be prime real estate and aggressively guarded.

Unless they are drastically different from their comic book counterparts (as was the case with Andrea), I don't get all the love for Tyrese and Sasha. They both sucked and I'm actually glad little to no time was spent on them in season 3. Making them regulars isn't good news to me in the slightest.

I like Beth cos she's cute but wouldn't lose any sleep if they killed her off. In fact, the only reason I'd want Beth around is because it'd likely destroy Herschel to lose her.

No Sasha in the comics, and Tyrese is pretty damn awesome in the comics.

Agree that his portrayal on the show has sucked.

It's called character development. The actors were only recurring guest stars this season. As a regular, the writers will get a chance to develop them more. I don't think it's fair to write off those characters this early in their time on the show.
