Here is an article that talks about the original scenes with Andrea and Milton:

I am a big fan of the series, but the finale had major problems. If the problems are not fixed next season and given AMC's reluctance to renew the show until the last minute, it might not see a fifth season. The ratings easily could go into a tailspin because the viewers stop caring. Use Heroes as an example of a show with unlimited potential that was never explored. There are still many other directions and places this show can go, if the producers are willing to take it there. The first step is simply leaving Georgia behind.

EW: When you came back to do the reshoot, was that after Glen Mazzara had moved off the show?

ROBERTS: Yes, it was after he and AMC had decided to part, but he was still theoretically in charge of the back half of the season. I didn’t see him there. I don’t know if we was in L.A. pulling those strings. Scott Gimple, who ended up taking the showrunner position, was there, so some of those changes may have come from him.

So it was essentially the same idea, except you saw me taking chunks out of Laurie Holden in that version.
Holy fuck.

That interview basically confirms my suspicion in terms of where the series will be going in Season 4. Love the fact that Roberts was so open about the reshoot and what the original version was like.

For Season 4:
The Governor will reappear in episode 6.
Hershel dies in episode 2.
The back story of the hitchhiker will reveal another group of survivors located at a shopping mall.

Just remember that you heard it here first.

The show has been nothing but increasing in ratings since the premiere. Even in the Internet-deemed "bad" half of this season. Where's the evidence the audience might turn?

Does no one else think the original version of Andrea's death sounded better from the description?

When did he toss the badge?? Mustve missed that. Also, when Carl was giving his speech about everyone they let live who ended up killing one of them, he said Andrew killed mom. Wasnt Andrew one of the prisoners? I thought the mother died from the C Section?

After the C section, so as not to come back a zombie?

You're telling me that Zombie that ate Lori was the same guy as the inmate?

No, he turned on the sirens, thus leading to all the chaos that ended with Lori trapped and having the baby away from the rest of the group. Although I don't remember if Herschel was still unconscious at the time.

Oh yeah thats right...thanks for clearing that one up.

BTW, I just now started watching this show from the first episode and just finished it today (all 3 seasons in 4 days lol). What was up with the Gov's notebook? I know Penny was his daughter but what was with all the other names before hers and all the hundreds of slashes (I'm guessing a slash for each day shes a zombie)?

This is a serious question. They have no medical expertise beyond Herschel, they aren't particularly brilliant and they are in a relatively remote part of the country with limited access to resources that would allow them to conduct research.

What exactly would you like to see them do about zombies?
Well I don't know, but TV shows can often push the boundaries of rationale - for instance, Herschel's daughter appears to be quite handy with a machine gun.

Sorry I got some of your backs up. Seems some people are very protective of a TV show they have no input in other than watching it. No harm in pointing out why you no longer enjoy something and having a discussion with opposing viewpoints. Jeez.

There are many shows that I just don't connect with regardless of how good they are critically or how high rated they may be. I can't stand Boardwalk Empire as one example. Game of Thrones is another show which on paper I should enjoy as I love fantasy and naked chicks, but I just don't.
Thanks fella. I'm fairly sure I'll survive the child-like outbursts of someone on the internet but I appreciate the concern

Re: The Walking Dead -- Season Finale -- "Welcome to the Tombs" -- 3/31/13

Finally caught up with all of Season 3 and was able to just watch the finale. I was dissapointed, only because it was a little anticlimatic for me. With that said though all of season 3 has been outstanding as a whole and i like the direction it is going. I don't think they have strayed as far from the comic book as others think.

After each episode i like to come and read the threads on here and i always have to laugh at the things people get upset about. What's funny (and i know the episodes are shoot months ago) is that people will question things in the threads that they say are outlandish, then the next episode the show will have some random line that seems to throw out the question posed. It's like the writers are reading these threads and writing in responses . Looking forward to the 4th season.

That shows how out of touch the writers are with the audience. You can't take a character that's generally hated and drag her scenes out, thinking it'll make her more sympathetic. It just annoys the audience that we have to spend even more time with such a moronic character. If they wanted a more emotional reaction from the audience, they should've written her better for the last two seasons. T-Dog's death got more of a reaction than Andrea's.

Do we actually know Andrea was hated by the majority of viewers? I didn't. I don't think you can go by the comments on forums were TV geeks post (This is not meant as a disparagement, I'm one too.) the majority of Americans aren't posting on DVDTalk, or any other website, about TV shows.

Using forums, The Walking Dead's Facebook page, Twitter, etc. you can get a pretty good idea of where characters stand. Most people were happy she was killed off because she had become such an annoying character in the show. The fact season three focused so much time on her didn't help either.

Re: The Walking Dead -- Season Finale -- "Welcome to the Tombs" -- 3/31/13

As much as I do enjoy the show it does appear that it will be limited by how much it can advance the story beyond a couple more seasons. Unless they can introduce or build up some strong characters. OR go the Lost route and give us some backstory before the outbreak (this to me is not the best option)

As someone else pointed out maybe the series has run its course. The more I think about it, this season ender was almost filmed as a series finale in the sense that Rick got his crap back together. They saved the Woodbury redshirts, Carl has transformed, the Gov got away and they killed off Andrea. It actually could end here. Everyone would piss and moan but they are doing that anyway.

My back isn't up at all. I don't care what you think of the show. But it's a discussion board, you said you would like to see them address the outbreak, I was asking how that would be possible. Hence, discussion.

I think many people feel the show should be "bigger" than it is. This is about what happens to a small group of survivors after the world has ended. If you wanted a show that goes beyond that small group, this isn't the show they are making.

So what exactly are you looking for?

It's now a rather large group of survivors!
