Crazy stuff...

Seems Rick was as surprised as I was to hear the Governor say "That was quite a stash of weapons you brought back" This guy needs to be taken out and taken out QUICK.

I assume they're going to lose the prison, the way they lost the farm. It's the Gilligan's Island Syndrome. So close, yet so far.

So much going on. I'm really anxious to see what happens next. It's a lot of fun to watch. Best reason to pay for satellite right now.

People from both sides making friends. Maybe we'll see some characters split together.

Yeah, no way a guy keeping that much an eye on you would let you live. That was fucked up.

Why would Rick consider this for even a nanosecond with all the information he has on the Governor?

That would be awesome, war + herd.

Easily the worst episode of the series for me. Let's waste an hour with a pointless "negotiation", Blech. I guess they just want to wait until the last episode.

I'll be the first. Please please kill Andrea next week if she try to redeem herself.

I agree, just a lot of staring.

This X10000000.

Seems like the writers have largely listened to the fans and created a show with fewer of the problems that plagued earlier episodes/seasons (killing off Lori, turning Carl into a badass, improving the pacing, more gore, better characterization of Michonne, etc.), so I'm continually baffled that Andrea gets as much screen-time as she does every week. Her character is awful and adds nothing worthwhile to the show.

And about the ep., loved it, and a great follow-up to last week's (probably my favorite to date).

I should think that Rick, being a cop, would be able to pick up that the Gov isn't to be trusted.

Of course he walked into what could easily have been an ambush tonight, so his police instincts might be off...

Also, he has no idea about prisons near his home town.

It seemed completely out of character for Rick to not just shoot the Governor in the head.

After last week's amazing episode this one was a serious letdown. I can't believe they're going to drag this Boringbury plot out for another 3 weeks.

Why wasn't tonight epsiode closed-captioned? Since I'm hard of hearing I alway have them on but this was the only episode not to have them. :(

That's why last weeks episode was such a pleasant surprise for me. 16 hours is way too long for this storyline. Now they have to drag out what we all know is coming. This was a filler episode, and I'm afraid we're going to get another next week. Last week was perfect.

With 3 episodes left, we might have 2 more filler episodes to get through. :(

This is beginning to be a show where nothing happens till the last ten minutes.
I don't know why I thought this was the finale tonight.

Khan and Kirk never met face to face in Star Trek II. These two didn't have to, either.

There was no logical reason for Rick not to plug one in the Governor's head first thing that Ol' Winky hung up his gun belt.

It's amazing how nobody appreciates the art of telling a story anymore.

Yea... I mean...if you wanna watch something completely just zombie kills..watch a 90 minute movie or something. A TV series can't survive and thrive off just that.

But... I do think this whole meeting was unneccersary. I do like the conflict of should he give up Michone for the greater good or not though. But there is no reason for Rick not to have just shot him there and end it.

It's about consistency. Rick killed two guys in a bar because he had a bad vibe about them. Better safe than sorry.

Now, he knows how much of a psychopath the guy is, but has an inner debate about handing over Michonne? He doesn't shoot the guy on sight? Rick should have gone there with the plan to ambush the governor.

I wouldn't say that was true. It is more that this episodes story was boring and really poorly done. It WAS just filler.

This sums it up for me. Just made zero sense other than dragging the story on for no other apparent reason.

+2

I felt the tension all throughout the episode.

Patience people, it sometimes takes awhile to build up to the big payoff.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Arrow on the Doorpost" -- 3/10/13

Just because he killed two guys in the past doesn't mean he wants to just shoot on sight. Plus, he had no idea if there was a trap set for him or his men - he had Darryl and Herschel on the outside who could've easily been ambushed. Besides, why wouldn't he want to resolve things peacefully?

But by all means, LET'S HURRY THE STORY ALONG FOR MOAR ZOMBIE KILLZ OMFG!!11

He did, didn't he? He mentioned that he hand over michonne, and the governor was still going to kill them was his first reaction.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Arrow on the Doorpost" -- 3/10/13

I felt the tension, too, not knowing whether the governor was going to draw his secret gun or not. Also, I really liked the exchanges between the two factions. Reminded me a lot of this story I saw last week: CNN Story about enemies who bond in warfare.

Also, Herschel's like, "I'm not going to show you my leg; buy me a drink first" and then his laugh was really good. At first, I thought Milton looked like the sociopath who had orchestrated it all, but as the ep wore on, I begin to doubt that. I can't tell if he's ambiguous or poorly crafted. The talk between Daryl and Martinez was a nice touch, too.

Glad to see Glenn and Maggie get reacquainted, and it was a nice bit of writing to not have anything terrible happen, too, while they were neglecting their duty. That would've been too cliché, I think.

Andrea telling the Governor about Rick, Shane, and Lori? What an awful person.

Beth firing the gun off in the cellblock and no one really acknowledging she had done it because it was Beth? That was pretty funny, even as Merle and Glenn were about to kill each other.

Agreed about Andrea. Last night was the night I finally turned against her, for that reason.

Andrea can't keep her mouth shut. No surprise. It was nice to see Rick and Gov telling her to remove herself, followed up with Gov's condescending thank you afterwards.

Nope. Rick killed two guys in a bar because they were setting up to kill him. (When guys are just posturing or on the defensive, they'll stick close together to appear a bigger threat. But when one dude walks away - putting you between him and his buddy - and makes a big show to get all eyes on him, he's setting you up to get shot in the back. It's basic stuff that even the greenest cop would pick up on.)

I enjoyed the episode. It had lots of nice character moments. Glenn & Maggie resolved the problems between them, Daryl and Latino Daryl got a chance to shine, and even Herschel got some good lines. And it set up the nerdy guy's eventual betrayal of the Gov; he now sees the prison group as ordinary human beings and not a faceless, soulless threat.

I too thought this was the finale. The whole time I kept thinking that this felt more like an episode setting up the events of the finale rather than the finale itself. It wasn't until the "next week on..." thing that I realized it wasn't the last episode. I'm glad too because that would have been a lame ending to this season.

This episode was a fine finale-lead-up show.

There's three more episodes in this season. I thought it was the finale, as did my wife. I think some site incorrectly said it was the finale and everyone believed it
