So is it really easy to get into television production or what? This show makes me think yes, yes it is.

Yeah, but the thing with the flood isn't confined to the bible. A variation of that story came from other cultures, also. So, if any of it is true I'm sure Noah came across other people after the flood.

Besides that, why aren't the other stuff the Bible says Sodom was punished for ever mentioned by anyone or in these programs, such as not helping the poor and needy (Ezekiel 16:49 if you want to look it up).
It's also hilarious to visualize that all the men of Sodom (the young and the very old) were surrounding Lot's house and clamoring for a go at the angels, yet no one wanted to so much as touch his virgin daughters. The girls must've been ugly as hell to be virgins in that city.

LOL Yeah, that desert weather can really fuck your skin up. Their skin was probably all weathered and dried up.

Sammy Davis Jr was black and he was a jew.
And, if you think about it people living in the desert would be a few shades darker than those like the Vikings living in Scandinavia.
Now that we are thru 2 episodes, and people have trashed the show beyond reason maybe some of them will drop off and those of us who enjoy the show can continue without all of the disparaging remarks and actually discuss the show.

We are church people, and we stopped watching after the first episode. If you want a cool, Bible-based television show, watch "Kings", which is a contemporary retelling of the story of David and Saul.

My favourite part so far were the ninja angels in the Sodom part of the story. The way they went all Matrix on the perverts was awesome...though that didn't happen in real life. And yes...I'm aware that some people here don't believe that anything in the bible happened in real life. So what ?

‘The Bible’ Stirs Controversy With Its Satan’s Resemblance To President Barack Obama
History’s hit miniseries The Bible has already been taken to task for its use of beautiful actors in all key roles. Now the project’s casting choice for the role of Satan has come under fire for the apparent resemblance of Moroccan actor Mehdi Ouazzani, who plays the Devil, to President Barack Obama. The topic created a firestorm online, ignited by a slew of tweets during last night’s third installment of The Bible, which featured Satan, and side-by-side image comparisons like the one here, from the Daily Mail. History is expected to respond to the controversy soon.

They make it sound like History did something wrong. Satan is Satan no matter the Earthly form he takes.
Or, is it a case that all black men look alike? And viewers can't tell the difference.

It was Mark Burnett's call on what he'd look like, I guess they could have gone with Dick Cheney but that'd just be over the top hilarious.
Long story short, this isn't a news story and nobody cares.

Well let's be fair - a vocal hypersensitive fringe on social media cares. Isn't the internet awesome? In the past, these people would have been offended and would have written letters or called the network and it would have gone nowhere. Now we all have to hear about it.

I'll still watch the show, but then what about that lame backlash on GOT, when GWB's head was on a pike? That was such a non-issue that the rightwing whackos went nuts on and HBO placated and removed the insert and commentary mention from all future pressings.
Just sayin'.

Honestly, it was likely done on purpose by the producers so the media firestorm would generate press for the show.
Burnett employs publicity stunts in all of his reality shows.

The History Channel says in a statement Monday:
“The Bible” Executive Producers, Mark Burnett & Roma Downey said Monday:
http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczyn...e-barack-obama
"HISTORY channel has the highest respect for President Obama. The series was produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors. It's unfortunate that anyone made this false connection. HISTORY's 'The Bible' is meant to enlighten people on its rich stories and deep history."
"This is utter nonsense. The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouzaani, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics– including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our President."

I'm just waiting for "The Justice Bros...Jesse & Al" to call for protest against "The Bible" and saying having a Black Man as satan is racist. It's only a matter of time we hear from the dear Rev. Farrakhan or Rev Wright.

The controversial episode actually ended up being the best entry in the series yet. Though apparently Daniel was hitting the gym quite frequently before he got thrown into the lion's den.
