Probably had rules (hands at your side etc.).

It's an all guy competition right now (not counting the "girl" which dresses like a guy).

And they keep up the reality show tradition of giving major screen time to the person who will be eliminated later in the episode.

They really found some unlikeable people this year. Chris actually managed to make Zach look favorable, and that takes work.

Complete opposite reaction for me, I liked Chris playing with them and subsequently Zach's tantrum about their maze. I was hoping Chris would stay so he could keep messing with them, and was the first time I thought there was an interesting character on the game.

Re: King Of The Nerds - TBS

I've never cared for that kind of personality on a reality show (well, I've never cared much for reality shows to begin with, but that's another story); the win-at-all-costs, cutthroat, manipulate the other contestants type. I don't think they're likeable, normal people, who suddenly "turn it on" when the camera is on. This is their everyday personality. They're the type who screw you over at work to take credit for something you did, or who take recreational sports leagues seriously (you know, guys who do shit like work the count in a slo pitch softball league).

I sure as hell don't want to see them on television, much less rewarded for their asshole-ness. Of course, there's always the option of simply not watching the program, and King of the Nerds is approaching that level for me. But at least Chris is gone, and I still hope Zach gets bounced pretty soon too. Unfortunately, that leaves a bunch of people I neither loathe nor love, which only decreases the watchability of the show even more.

I can see that, for me it helps that Zack has been such an insufferable twit that anyone that fucks with him more makes me happy.

I think i'm rooting for Jack the rest of the way though.

I agree with this, and watching Zack have a hissy is about the funniest thing on the show. If Zack wasn't such a douche nothing Chris said to him would have bothered him. Chris merely used Zack's own overbearingly ugly personality against him.

My thoughts exactly. I'm rooting for Jack at this point. He's the only person left who I think deserves to win.

TBS decided to kill their repeats of their 10PM shows, meaning I can't watch this til the Saturday repeats.

Also rooting for Jack here. He's pretty much the only likable guy left.

Bah, TBS isn't airing a season marathon before the finale.

Never has a reality show fallen so far in one year. Almost every member of the first season's cast was engaging and likable in their own way. It took me about nine minutes to skip through the entire episode with this cast.

The people casting this season should be looking for another job.

I understand that you don't want to give away who's going home in promos, but I find it hilarious that they continue to feature the blond girl who got voted out in the first episode in the promos for this show, probably because she was the cutest girl in the bunch.

Re: King Of The Nerds - TBS

So Kayla wins. I was rooting for Jack, and I'm glad they did away with the former cast member vote, but that was 4 of the most boring finalists in a reality show. I like that last challenge though. I wonder if this will survive for another season.

Re: King Of The Nerds - TBS

I watched the last ten minutes to catch the winner. I'm surprised Jack didn't do better at the final challenge, but his lack of cultural knowledge must have really hurt him.

The show is so cheap to produce, I expect TBS to give it one more shot. The casting will completely be re-tooled, it would be hard to do as badly as they did this year.

Worst possible outcome imho. Kayla was just incredibly unlikable. She's ugly, overweight, terrible personality, etc. etc. I like the concept of the show and hope it gets another shot. But they've gotta hire a new casting director.

I want some sexy nerds. Right?

But yeah, Kayla was the worst out of all of them. She did very little over the Season. I've been rooting for Jack all Season.

I was rooting for Kayla over Jack because she seemed to have a deep knowledge of nerdy cultural subjects. It was pretty obvious to me that Jack was one of those Asian kids growing up with few interests outside of studying and academic work.

I wish they'd cast some of the guys from Beauty and the Geek.

And that's 42 minutes of my week that are now available to me again

But really, isn't that what a "nerd" has always been? When you watch the original Revenge of the Nerds, I don't think any of them were into sci-fi, gaming, comics, fantasy, etc. They were just socially awkward, heavily academic, and into computers. If anything, Jack was the truest "nerd" of the bunch.

RotN took place at a college, though, so it was heavily skewed to the academic nerd. Not every nerd goes to college.

She didn't know Star Wars. I agree with the audience reaction at the debate: Jack got booed for not having seen Star Trek or Star Wars. The nerds from season 1 seemed to have more nerd knowledge.

I was annoyed at how Brian and Xander got eliminated. Five points seemed too short of a competition and Jack got lucky because of multiple choice answers. I'd rather see the nerds go through an entire full game of Nerd Jeopardy without multiple choice.
