Yep. Completely agree. There's no one you love and no one you hate enough to keep watching for their demise. The average is just really unlikable people.

I thought season three had a pretty good cast, Colby and a couple of others were inspired picks. I did think the edit featured too much of that woman from NASA.

Yeah, I enjoyed this cast as well. There's always gonna be an air of unlikeability around any cast of nerds; that's why they're nerds. The trick is to find ones that are socially awkward, but not too obnoxious. They did not succeed with this in season 2, but I think they had a decent balance this year.
Plus I liked Lily's confessional in the finale. "Fuck me", then (to the producers) "don't use that"

I noticed that Jacob had a lot of screen time in the finale. He would've been an interesting contestant, especially in the confessionals, but left the game in the first episode.
My complaints about this season are that Zack made an appearance and that the show needed more Pom Pom Kitty.

Nah, he got off lucky (no pun intended). Someone who's "80%" (and that's by her definition)? You ain't gonna get them to switch teams, and they WON'T do a threesome with you.

I was just hoping that he would get a little action since he was first voted off, but the one girl that he was vibing with was the 80/20 girl. That's just bad luck.

Canceled by TBS. No fourth season: http://deadline.com/2015/09/king-of-...bs-1201515749/
I wonder how Robert Carradine is doing after that terrible car crash he was in.

Aw. Too bad. With the exception of the contestants geeking out (pun intended) to crappy Little Caesar's Pizza), I liked this show.

It was never any good, and it never drew any kind of audience. I'm surprised they made three seasons.

It cost practically nothing to air, I am stunned they canceled it. I wonder if the executive at TBS behind it left?

Re: King Of The Nerds - TBS
For that matter, I don't know how the cable stations get by showing the same re-runs of network comedies and dramas that almost "everybody else" is running. I know they do, -they must, -but I just don't understand it.

They obviously sell advertising time.
I think people underestimate the appeal of reruns.

The winner of Season 1 appeared on Conan weeks before the finale aired, proving that TBS never took the show seriously as reality competition.
TBS's reruns of The Big Bang Theory draw more than 2 million viewers each episode, each night. That's a larger draw than Nerds, and TBBT has already been bought and paid for.

True, but man does not live on Big Bang Theory reruns alone. Most networks love reality shows because they are so cheap and easily manipulated.

Why spend even $1 to produce and air a show with a dwindling audience that is smaller audience than a sitcom rerun, AND generates no "buzz" for your network?

Plus, as mentioned above, they have multiple sponsors for the show that paid them for 'spots' like the Little Caesars one that was present in every episode, the "RadioShack room' etc.

The departure of “Nerds” is no surprise as the new regime at Turner has vowed to make significant changes in the tone of TBS’ comedy programming. Earlier this week TBS began its promo push for the upcoming late-night talk show hosted by “Daily Show” alum Samantha Bee, “Full Frontal.”

Re: King Of The Nerds - TBS
That is not surprising at all. Every new executive at a network comes in wanting to clean house, wanting to put their own stamp on the channel. If TBS's management hadn't changed, it would have been picked up again.

Re: King Of The Nerds - TBS
Because they pay for the re-runs of TBBT and being known as "TBBT re-run network" isn't really good for business. You think cable networks get unlimited use of episodes just because they bought the syndication package? No, of course not. That's why all these cable networks decided to order and produce their own shows instead of being the 're-run network' from a decade+ ago, even when their original shows were still not drawing a huge audience.
Plus, as mentioned above, they have multiple sponsors for the show that paid them for 'spots' like the Little Caesars one that was present in every episode, the "RadioShack room' etc.

Cable networks don't want to be known as just a rerun network for various reasons. For example, as I mentioned in my post, they want original programming that draws audiences AND buzz.
The very idea that you identify KotNerd's primary sponsors as Radio Shack and Little Caesars Pizza proves better than anything I could point to what a worthless and unremarkable enterprise the whole show turned out to be.
I know that Nerds was supposed to fit into a a part of TBS's branding along with Big Bang and Conan, but it just turned out to be a crappy cousin.

Right now TBS is burning off a Reality Comp called "Funny or Die Presents The Next Great Weatherman" at 10pm CT on Saturday nights, -the deadest of dead zones. Its an odd show, -the host is played as a Comic character, but the contestants and the prizes are real and the challenges are set up to make them look foolish.

It wouldn't surprise me if TBS makes a hard move away from reality. While the lure of cheap reality programming is very attractive, it horribly devalues a network's brand in the eyes of richer demographics.
