Horrible episode.
No way someone as good looking and successful as Joshua would ever need to be with someone like Hannah - even if he was a little lonely. This is NYC, he wouldn't even have to approach the women - they'd go to him.
And Dunham's frequent nudity reeks of her trying to come across as edgy, in the "look at me!!... I don't have a problem being real and showing my body even though I'm overweight" sort of way. Her nudity's alarming in that she goes out of her way to show her body in the same way Allison Williams tries hard to hide hers. Just trying to hard.
While she's probably normally overweight, I'm sure she's packing extra pounds needlessly for the role while she wears tight clothing and is always in a stance that makes her look even worse.
The only thing I liked about the episode was the brownstone.

What is out of place here?

To me it's the way she goes about. She just seems so filthy and dirty and sweaty all the time. In real life I'd imagine I'd see flies hovering around them all the time.

).And while some people may like it, her tattoos are hideous and a huge turnoff for me.

Im sure she's fine in real life, but in the show she's terrible. Her hair's never done up, no makeup, grungy, dirty, sweaty, and weird clothing (bare mid-riff!!! --> curb your enthusiasm anyone?)

I think you guys underestimate how lonely the doctor was. This is a guy whose only interaction with the neighborhood is yelling at a coffee shop over garbage.

Watched this last night. I thought it was a pretty good self-contained episode and liked it quite a bit actually. Was the relationship scenario highly unlikely? Yes. I just didn't really care.

Not the worst episode, but far from the best. I hate that Girls has basically become the Hannah show (and Dunham has become Ms. Narcissist). There are too many great characters that exist in that world that I would love to get updates on. The best character on the show, Adam, has been completely wasted. The actors that portray those characters have also been shafted. Instead we get guest appearances from Dunham's vag.
Perhaps for the season finale her vagina can smoke crack and run around Brooklyn.

I feel Lena is the female gender's revenge for all those Woody Allen movies women had to sit through and wonder why anyone would find him appealing, no matter how funny.

I would not be shocked in a year or 2 she loses weight after all the abuse she takes online.

I enjoyed it, in spite of the implausibility of the scenario because of what it revealed to Hannah about herself... that she's basically trying too hard. Having her worldview shattered ought to really change her on the show, which could be interesting. I wished they'd focused on the other girls in the episode too, but as long as this doesn't become a regular occurrence I'm okay with it. I did think it was interesting in Lena Dunham's recap that she said Hannah was actively trying to burn the relationship to the ground so she couldn't go back, instead of just never knowing when to shut up which is what I assumed.
I did like this image of Patrick Wilson's real life girlfriend though.

Not terrible implausible ... sadly.
She's not unsightly, but she should keep her clothes on. Those gutter tats are the worst part of her naked body, not her curves.

I love the reaction this show is getting. This episode was fucking brilliant. Lena Dunham has the smallest tits and the biggest balls in Hollywood.

The pairing is not entirely implausible and the sweetie comment just made me think of many intergenerational hook ups/pairings. The guy just took a paternal outlook at that moment.
The thing I thought was weird is that HE doesn't look like too many 42 year old men whereas Hannah does look is a lot of 24 year old women.
This episode definitely reminded me f Louie moreso than any other episodes from this show.

I have to think Lena is a genius.. This episode has generated a ton of articles and discussion, and as such viewership will likely increase.

Patrick Wilson is 39 in real life.
I assume this season was filmed in the Summer last year?
I prefer winter since that is the best time in NYC and a better setting for the show and maybe Hannah will keep her clothes on.
