The fact remains that you aren't right about this... Malcolm did exist. Malcolm was a personality created by Moloch. That personality is what Willow had a relationship with.

Now the rest of us have even more reason to hate Alien: Resurrection.

Posing as, as in not real. There's not even an individual entry for Malcolm in the Buffy wiki, because he's just Moloch in disguise.

She had ALL of Fred's memories. She, for all intents and purposes, could have chosen to be Fred... She would have been exactly the same as Fred in every way if she had chosen to be. What distinguishes her is that she chose to exhibit a different personality.

And if you meet a girl at a bar who lies about her name, her hobbies, her occupation, and--believing her personality sucks--heavily monitors and alters the way she normally acts? Hell, what if she doesn't lie about anything but is very drunk and very uninhibited--which is abnormal for her?

So, if Moloch had chosen to act like Malcolm for the rest of his life, does that mean he's no longer Moloch?
