Look, if you're the fight coordinator on a show about stumbling zombies, you get like one chance per season to show off, maybe. Might as well make it look cool :p.

This episode was okay. The Woodbury stuff is really starting to annoy me. The Governor doesn't do much for me and I've never liked Andrea much.

All the stuff with Rick and the prison is great and every time they move away from that the show slows down.

The phone thing was a little lame but I think that it was closure for Rick and helped him move on. It was fairly clear to me that it was a hallucination.

I think that the comic spoilers should be labeled as comic spoilers. Yes, some of you have read the comics, I have not and consider anything that's not happened in the show so far a spoiler or a potential spoiler. I also understand that they aren't following the comics to a T. I think that's great but one of these times someone is going to spoil something that turns out to happen on the show. So far, of the spoilers I've read about the comic, most of them have come true in some fashion or another.

As for the comic matching up to the show, I'm curious what percentage you guys think the two are at now? I think it is hovering around the 15% mark on key events and people.

Can you spoiler that please? At NO time has it ever been said that there are
Spoiler:
zombies
on the show ... people who are just starting to watch may not want that ruined for them.

1. It is not a goddamned baseball bat.

2. By swinging right to left against your leftmost opponent, you leave yourself wide open to your opponent on the right. Swing left to right, then reverse blade and bring it up, gutting your other opponent like a fish.

When I watched the episode I didn't think it stuck out that badly, but watching the video clip makes the swing awfully amateurish. I know when the producers were cooking up the character for television (yes, I know she is in the comics), they thought she would be a fan favorite because of the samurai sword action. If she can't act and and doesn't bring an athletic presence to the role, why did they cast this actress?

If the Governor bites it (speculation on my part just because he is the antagonist for the moment; I have not read the comics) then will it be safe to say that Andrea has the Crotch of Doom?

There's so many joke posts on this forum - and more than a few actual cranks - that I can't tell when someone is kidding or not any more. So I just treat 'em all like they're goofs. But in case the guy is actually serious:

Comics Michonne is not a highly-trained martial artist, and TV Michonne seems to be cut from the same cloth. Sneaky, cold-blooded, and gifted with natural aptitude? Sure. But the closest thing to a duel we've seen on the show so far had her fighting a middle-aged redneck with a homemade knife hand, and it was a draw.

They probably just thought she would be a fan favorite because she's the most popular character in the comics by far. Maybe they thought the character would carry itself and slacked off on the casting (and clearly in the attention paid to samurai sword-wielders, according to some here).

But hey, Andrea is a fan favorite character in the comics. Other than the Governor (and maybe even him, because someone in this thread actually said he was boring...), they've specifically screwed up every fan favorite character so far.

I fear for Tyrese.

I do disagree on the "Michonne can't act" stuff, though. Her face at the end of the last episode was heartbreaking. She clearly just doesn't do well with acting like a stone-faced badass. But, I struggle to think of an actress who could do well in the part. Lest we all forget, Andrea's supposed to be a badass in this show, too. We all saw how that turned out.

Something you comic book readers might try to understand is that some viewers of the show may wish to read the source material eventually and would prefer not knowing how it differs from the show. I have no interest in reading it, but something to consider. It takes half a second to click the spoiler button.

Not to be argumentative but I recall the walkers showing up to essentially save her by occupying Merle while she ran away. That said she did kill two of the four thanks to her Crouching Tiger tree drop.

They dug a pretty deep hole for her to climb out of if they want her to be a favorite of TV only fans. It clearly couldn't have been intentional, so I think they just got too clever and incorrectly assumed the audience would just think what they want them to think using some lazy cliches. Same with Lori. I can't believe they meant for her to be so hated that by the time she died horribly the audience practically applauded. And Andrea who, as you point out, instead of being a tough as nails zombie killer instead has turned out to be the zombie apocalypse's version of Kim Kardashian.

Well, hopefully the actress can show us more when she meets up with a group she's comfortable with.

Eh, Lori was despised in the comics, too. So I can't say they actually did badly with her. Hell, she was one character they probably made MORE likeable in the series. Take that as you may.

Daryl is probably a fan favorite and he isn't in the comics (sorry for that spoiler!). So the writers can write someone to be awesome. I would love to see a Daryl/Morgan spin off of them hiding out and killing zombies.

I'd agree with you if Daryl wasn't literally the only person in the current cast that they've done a decent job with.

Well, it's not being argumentative if I was wrong. But if she was losing, that just reinforces my point - Michonne is not being presented as an unstoppable killing machine/Leet Ninja Assassin. While she did nail two of the four, it was only through surprise and guile. She is not supposed to be a trained samurai.

I can't get over how much they fucked up Andrea on the show. Considering she's one of my favorites, it's infuriating.

I also question the decision to make The Governor so genteel on the show. Just because you have a charming British actor, you don't have to completely alter the character just to accommodate that quality and get Andrea laid. Yeah, maybe introducing him like they did in the comic would have been a bit too extreme for basic cable, but c'mon. So far, he's just an unhinged fool lording over some naive extras.
