Re: Elementary -- Thursdays (CBS)
I imagine the power delay during the Super Bowl blew apart CBS's plan for Elementary. The viewing numbers for 60% of the country are going to be dreadful, as East Coasters aren't going to stay awake past midnight for Elementary.
It was a strange standalone episode for the show, obviously juiced up for the post-Super Bowl slot. The core of the show, the interaction between Sherlock and Watson, was relegated to practically nothing.

Re: Elementary -- Thursdays (CBS)
The Watson apartment storyline made no sense. The landlord was apparently there the entire time the "film" was being made. Did he suggest that it be made? If not, how did he end up being there the whole time? It seems like if he was just called in to fix the radiator that they would hide the fact that they were producing the film until he left. Since the sub-letter was being evicted, too, why didn't he bring up the fact that the landlord was there the whole time and knew about the film and was apparently cool with it?
If the landlord's plan all along was to evict Watson and jack up the rent, it seems awfully convenient that one of his other tenant's kids happened to stumble upon this one random pornographic film, and then that his mom happened to find out that he was looking at porn and saw the film herself, and then was able to figure out that it was filmed in Watson's apartment. Was the landlord hoping that just such a bizarre set of circumstances would occur? Did he lie to Watson about the neighbor's kid? (If so, Watson seems like the kind of person who would go apologize to the mother, and the whole plan would blow up when the mom revealed that she didn't know what Watson was talking about). Or did the landlord "help" the situation along by providing a minor with pornography, specifically so the mother could find it?
The whole thing felt poorly thought out and shoehorned in to have a "porn" subplot in the post-Super Bowl spot.

It was definitely the worst episode of the season. I actually thought they may have been introducing a new permanent addition to the show, the FBI profiler, until the twist.

20.8M viewers and 7.8 in demos. Lowest rated post-Super Bowl program since Alias in 2003.

What time did it air? Fifteen minutes into the blackout I knew whatever was airing afterward was going to get the shaft. I remember they aired a freakin' post-game Bon Jovi concert which pushed that Alias start time to after 1130p, of course it would be low-rated. Even 2 shots of Jennifer Garner in her underwear couldn't save it.

Finally got caught up on all eps this week. Really enjoying the show. Johnny Lee Miller is way better than I thought he would be in this role. And Lucy Liu is growing on me too. Good stuff.

I do like how they haven't come up with a contrived reason for Watson hanging around Sherlock, she simply enjoys his company and likes what he does. I was almost positive the writers were going to make him relapse, to give Watson an excuse to hang around him.

For a minute there I thought Reese was going to be Mycroft... you know the whole walking-around-naked thing.

CBS made a major mistake by not using Thursday's episode after the Super Bowl. It was a much better episode and didn't rely on some trite serial killer storyline we've all seen a hundred times before.

Anybody else yell "BY JUPITER'S COCK!" when Hannah first showed up and he was naked.
Nice little odd shout out to Spartacus fans I'd bet.

Good episode. I've only watched Elementary four or five times, but I usually enjoy it. I also like the little shout-outs to the fans of the stories. "If you'd read my monograph, you'd know!"
I hope they never come back to the Moriarty plotline. It may have been originated by the Sherlock Holmes stories, but it's been done to death for more than a century now.

Really enjoyed last nights episode. Liked how they focused on the core characters and moved forward with Holmes and Watson. Thought the detective and brother did a great job.

I'm glad they didn't stretch out Watson trying to hide that she wasn't being paid anymore.
