Right, ...and not knowing that the kid would end up in the hospital, yada-yada. Saul probably slipped the kid a baked goodie of some sort with the LotV cooked into it by Heisenberg. I'd just love to have heard the conversation to hear how Walt convinced Saul.

Yeah, I was really glad they mentioned that since it keeps Gus consistent.

This was pretty interesting, in this ep they used the pig as one.

That's an awesome chart. I didn't think that Walt was lying about how much money he has, that actually makes sense given his character.

The thing that gets me about this episode, and this season, how top shelf the writing is, is that if they hadn't gone after the laptop with the magnet? The secret bank accounts would not have been discovered. If the accounts had not been discovered, the money could not have been seized. Mike wouldn't need money himself, his guys wouldn't be losing theirs. Then his girl would not have gone crazy about killing everyone, and tried to kill Mike at Chow's, and Mike would not have had to ask her about P2P and decided to go back in with Walt and Jesse.
To go from the success of the magnet heist, that was talked about and debated by everyone all over, to that being both their potential downfall and saving grace to get Mike back in and start the operation back up.
That's some fucking A good writing.

Still, what this show does better than most is that it pays attention to it's own details; it really dot's it's "i"s and crossest it's "t"s.

Another great episode.
I'm watching this on Amazon Instant Video, so I don't get access to the new episodes until about 7:30am the following day. I have to start pretending it's a Monday night show to make it easier on myself.

Didn't really notice this as significant other than a nervous twitch following his interview, but it is a nice little foreshadow for last seasons finale (even if it can be perceived as many things).

Gus looking defeated for the first time in his run on the show, tapping his finger like he's ringing Tio's bell as the elevator rings.

This was a pretty good episode. Nice to see a focus on Mike. I also got a rapey vibe from Walt when he lay in bed with her.
P.S.-I've always had this underlying feeling that before the show is over Walt will kill Jesse. He's done some terrible things and his relationship with Jesse is one of the things I think he cherishes in some ways. If he kills Jesse, I think he kills all semblance of his soul and I could see it going that way. But of course, it would be to protect his family. I am, of course, aware that I may be full of shit.

I loved the final scene of the episode. Made me really uncomfortable, in a good way. Like others have mentioned it seemed like Walt was about to rape her, but of course we knew that wasn't where it was going. Walt was trying to console her. It really showed us exactly how Skylar feels about Walt now.

Seems like we were definitely supposed to notice Walt Jr.'s actions at breakfast. Did he want to avoid Walt for some reason? Or was he just not hungry for some reason...
I've been hoping all along that they *wouldn't* have Walt Jr. wind up being a meth addict himself--as ironies go that seems way too pat and afterschool special-ish. But who knows.
Love that elevator scene with Gus, especially in retrospect. And as much as I loved that character and will miss him, I hope they don't use him again. They don't need him to explain anything more in flashbacks, and I *really* don't want to see him as a subconscious lecture-ghost like Dexter's dad. That device has gotten real old on TV dramas real fast.

I agree. This show has been such a slow burn that you would think there would be some signs of Walt Jr. heading down a bad road. It may still lead there but I can't recall anything to make us think that he'd even be willing to try meth.

Fantastic, slow burn episode. The interrogation scene was amazing. Everyone keeps mentioning Mike in that scene, but kudos to Dean Norris as well. It was a well rounded scene played excellent on both ends.
The scene at the beginning with Jesse breaking down? Man, Aaron Paul nailed it.
A whole episode with Skywash in bed? Keep her in bed the rest of the season and I'll be good. Even better if they forget about Marie as well.
I hope they don't do something lame with Walt Jr. He's the only wholesome character on the show, outside of his reaction at not getting his dream car.
Why do you think that was inadvertent? Hank is clearly a smart detective. He knows when you put a boot on a criminal they are going to fuck up at some point. He knows Mike was in the meth lab, and by taking away all his money it will give him an incentive to earn more, i.e. lead them to the real meth kingpin.
I absolutely think that was just a play just to get Mike "on-the-move" so they can track him. I don't think for a second Hank believed Mike would give up any real information.
The new one wasn't ricin. They showed Walt filling it with salt. Just something to swap out with the real ricin cig with a much smaller risk involved.
That's awesome. In the comments: "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought: balloons, rubber gloves, wasp spray, Hungry Hungry Hippos"
As is this. Fantastic catch with the elevator/bell.

And eventually it may be the key to Jesse finding out what Walt did.

I expect a chase between Walt and Hank to close up the series, and wouldn't be surprised if Walt ends up surviving. But if we connect the dots from how Walt was in episode to now, basically going from Anakin to Darth Vader, then he'll probably end up dying.
However, you never know what to expect with this show.

Okay. So I watched a bootleg of episode one. And then I went to watch a bootleg of episode two, and every relavent site seems to be down. Did AMC attack or something? I don't think I've ever had such a hard time locating a show like that.
Anyways, I paid $2 to watch it on Amazon. And I was disappointed by how many pauses were in Amazon's player. I paid for SD instead of HD, because I wanted less lag, and didn't care because I'm watching it on a computer screen.
Good episode. The stuff with Mike was excellent. Last season or two, I didn't expect him to become a main character.

I paid $3 for HD, and saw no pauses or lag at all.
