Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

The Steam Lantern and his world is an interesting concept, Unlike any I have seen before.
Lots of good shots of the blimp flying.
Hal pulling the planet into his universe was OUTRAGEOUS.
Nice shout to Alan Scott.

Black Lightening and Daughters Short was good.

I didn't start watching GL from the beginning. Was that the first appearance of Sinestro?

Young Justice/Green Lantern Nixed

DC Nation Gets A Shakeup In New Cartoon Network Schedules – Young Justice And Green Lantern Nixed

As expected, neither Young Justice or Green Lantern are on Cartoon Network’s newly published list of new or returning shows.

DC Nation will be topped up with Teen Titans Go! and Beware The Batman. Perhaps those are more merchandise friendly, eh?

Teen Titans Go!: Featuring the return of Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg in all-new, comedic adventures, Teen Titans Go! will premiere in April 2013. Character-driven comedy is the order of the day as this new take on the superhero series focuses on the funny business that happens between saving the world and living together as teenagers without adult supervision. The series stars the principal voice cast from the original Teen Titans, and is produced by Warner Bros. Animation.

Beware the Batman: A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogue gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a “Batman show.” Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals, Beware the Batman, based on characters from DC Comics, is coming to Cartoon Network’s DC Nation block in Summer 2013.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

This had long been expected, the shows were looking canceled almost from the beginning. Green Lantern only got a show because of the movie, but when that flopped I knew it was only a matter of time.

I hope people are still watching this show, there was a shocking development in the last episode.

Waited forever for the second half of season 1 or season 2 and it will get cancelled. This really suck.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Green Lantern stumbled at the start but I really started enjoying the show more as it continued on. The last few episodes have been fantastic.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Don't worry.. You don't need quality and well written shows like GL and Young Justice... Why watch shows that make you think and offer a complex story from week to week? You can just settle in and watch more crap shows like Annoying Orange that got renewed. Go Cartoon Network!

Yeah, the last few episodes have been great. It's really unfortunate.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

I never got in to this series, admittedly. Green Lantern is such a great concept and story, but the cartoon was too vanilla most times for my tastes. I wanted more of a hard edged scifi thriller along the lines of "First Flight," and instead it was all mostly just predictable running in to villains, bland fight scenes, and pretty hokey writing.

It wasn't an awful show, but just not the show I wanted.

And goddamn can someone please cancel Annoying Orange already? Geez.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

The show got a lot better once they had established the proper set of characters.

If it doesn't sell toys it won't last long on CN. So back to Teen Titans and Batman which are both established toy sellers.

I really like where they are taking the Aia story line, although that was sort of a quick end to the anti-monitor.

I also really don't understand rebooting Power Puff Girls with a brand new art style. It makes no sense.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Annoying Orange looks like high art compared to Mr. Mariah Carey's Incredible Crew. Maybe that show is awesome for kids or something but the promos look terrible...

I liked how they explain how the rings work as universal translators.
