Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Mogo just seemed to be hanging around the region, I think the Guardians sent him there. The Guardians are definitely inept and powerless in most situations. They're probably the weakest aspect of the Green Lantern mythos, their motivations have always been whatever the plot needed them to be.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Mogo was on the wrong side of the barrier from the beginning. Hal landed on him and found some stranded people who turned out to be outlaws. Mogo had been capturing and imprisoning criminals for years. It was only after he met Hal did he become a Lantern. They probably just changed his origin to allow him to come in contact with Hal and Co and aid in the fight against the Red Lanterns.

A Very Rousing half-season finale. Needed to be about 10 minutes longer to flesh-out a couple of scenes.

The SWORD of the ATOM is off to a great start.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Do you have a link to the list of announced shorts?

Where did the rest of the Corps go? I know they sent them off to go help Hal and Kilowog, but all of them except Salaak?

The finale was a bit of a let down. Where the hell are the rest of the Corps? Only 1 GL to protect Oa?

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Didnt the purple women send back Hal's girlfriend back to earth without any side effects?
What was that about them saying they had never sent anyone back to earth?

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

They sent her back from where they originally brought her, which was the only difference compared to the one-way trip that Hal took. I guess transport to and from Zamaron to be a star sapphire is different from teleporting anyone to anywhere.

That said, man Earth must be close to Oa. Hal showed up after having a full course meal and still beat the rest of the Corps to Oa. Who's policing the galaxy while the Corps is traveling to the outer edge of the galaxy?

No Link but I recall reading about the shorts on the TOONZONE forums around
7 months ago.

I know they are also making shorts for DOOM PATROL, AMETHYST(Princess of Gem World), and Justice League of Animals(what?).

I think we'll see new shorts even when GL and YJ are showing reruns.

Amethyst? Wow, they're really bringing back the 80's nostalgia. They should do an Omega Men. Or Captain Carrot, that would be great.

Do they even show reruns of their shows? I remember trying (and failing) to catch up with Young Justice last year.

Both GL and YJ are going into reruns this week with a new SWORD OF THE ATOM episode.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

took me a while to get used to the animation style, I really didn't like it when I first started watching
overall I liked the series though. I liked how it started with Hal already having the ring and being a GL for a while so we didn't have to sit through yet another origin story.

You were disappointed that a show about space cops was going to be primarily set in space ?

Yeah, if anything, the movie should have been like this show. And I hope the sequel takes place entirely in space if not at least 90% in space.

No, it's clear that Green Lantern will not be running into other DC heroes from planet Earth on this show unless they are directly tied to the Green Lantern property. Producers typically pay out smaller fees for more limited rights packages to license characters, so don't expect Wonder Woman to ever show up.

That is disappointing to me but not unexpected.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Diedrich Bader is voicing GUY GARDNER.
I hate Guy but did enjoy is appearances on B:TB&TB.
And the ANTI-MONTIOR is the big bad for episodes 14-26.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

My wife and I have liked what we have seen so far. I especially like how the scope has grown over the season (adding Blue Lanterns and soon Purple likely). I thought the "wall of stone" didn't make much sense but hey its a kids show ...

Also, I guess these Guardians are powerless eh?

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

GL is back in action.
Hal returns to Earth and finds out that he has been replaced by Guy.
The Anti-Monitor reactives the Manhunters.
Nice start to the new season. Dietrich Bader was very good as Guy.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Trying to following anything on CN is a pain but it was on a 10am. Next week it could be on at noon. They change the times of their shows with no warning.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

I know. You find a show you like and get used to the time it's on, but after a few weeks or months (if you're lucky) they change it and you can't find it.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Hal getting taken down by Ch'p was FUNNY.
Tomar-Re sees plenty of action.
A Killer ending.

So what has happened to Razer? I don't recall what happened to him at the end of last season and now he just hasn't shown up at all.
