Survivor: One World -- "Never Say Die" -- 4/25/12

Re: Survivor: One World -- "Never Say Die" -- 4/25/12
Alicia, the wonderful special ed teacher, once again leads her profession by comparing Kat to one of her students. Alicia strikes me as a bully, and I hate to think of how she acts in the classroom. I think she is in for a rude awakening when she shows up for work...
Regarding special education... some special needs students are actually smarter than their instructors and just learn in a different way or are bored silly in a regular classroom setting and choose to do nothing when not challenged.

There are certainly many candidates, and Colton would be my first choice from this year, but Alicia adds the feature of being horrible to look at

I keep getting quoted incorrectly. Someone please post a gif of Alicia chopping in the challenge. Maybe I can sway some my way.

I don't see her you dig her. She is just plain nasty. Her bush probably looks like this:
Minus the sunglasses of course. But it probably has the teeth.

Agree completely. One of the many reasons she makes me sick. If I had a kid in her classroom, I would immediately request my kid be moved. She's shown that she's a bully (an unforgiveable trait in any teacher, let alone a special ed teacher) and now she makes disparaging comments about her students. All that's left is for her to call another contestant "retarded".
Alicia has actually managed to edge out Naonka on my list of most reprehensible human beings on display on Survivor, but Colton's still well ahead of her. I really hope she loses her job after this. She shouldn't be working with children. And of course the longer she survives in the game, the more money she walks away with...another sad thing to consider.

Which is another reason I wish they'd only award prize money to the winner. When a good player brings along a hated person to the final, that person won't end up with a bunch of money too.

I think only 1st and 2nd place get real money. And they get taxed to the max. If Alicia loses her job what she gets for this game won't cover it.

Supposedly, this is the pay scale (plus I think they all get an additional base appearance fee):
1st Place - $1,000,000
2nd Place - $100,000
3rd Place - $50,000
4th Place - $25,000
5th Place - $20,000
6th Place - $15,000
7th Place - $12,000
8th Place - $10,000
9th Place - $9,000
10th Place - $8,000
11th Place - $7,000
12th Place - $6,000
13th Place - $5,000
14th Place - $4,000
15th Place - $3,000
16th Place - $2,500
I'm not sure what they do now that they have three finalists. What happens if the two runners up tie for votes? Do they both get $100,000? Btw, this means Alicia is already guaranteed $12,000 in prize money. Sad.

I agree completely. It would make the game so much better if only the winner received any prize money. Most people don't have the balls to make big moves because they worry that if it fails they'll put themselves on the chopping block and forego the extra prize money they would have received if they just stayed submissive and accepted 4th or 5th place.
