Quote: I liked it. Nice to see some other survivors, even if Rick had to gun them down.
I wouldn't count them out just yet. They said they had a camp of people.

Wonder if they have a governor.

I'm hoping they keep The Governor out of the TV series. An okay episode with a good ending but I'm ready to see them move on from the farm.

Lori driving off after Rick and Glen made absolutely no sense, except for the writers to set up that accident.

Agreed, not sure why Lori drove out when she knew Rick was going to bring back Herschel. I don't know why she felt the need to go out.

The hormones are making her irrational.

I was sorta "meh" on everything aside from Rick being a badass. I wanted more of a focus on where the show was going next maybe. I'm starting to think that the farm will be the main setting for the rest of the season.

Spoiler:
Why? Anyone coming into a TV discussion thread about an episode should expect a discussion on the episode.

Nothing special but some nice set ups. I expect big payoffs next week on the bar fight and the flipped car.

Soon as I saw Michael Raymond-James from TRUE BLOOD, I said "well, he's a bad guy".

So, they spent about 3 issues of the comic book at the farm, and we've got to spend all of Season 2 there? Pretty lame. Maybe it's just me, but Rick could solve a lot more of his problems if he just shot Herschel.

The bar showdown was great. The Lori car accident was lamebrains.

Worst part of the episode.

Wow, that episode flew by, and not much happened, but it was nice to see them keep pushing the theme of hope. Hershel completely lost hope, and Rick had to pull him back. Some important developments as well:

We learn that Ft. Benning is no longer an option. Where do they go now? I don't see the series staying on the farm. This locale is already getting boring.

Lori knows about Shane killing Otis

Daryl no longer cares about helping the group. He might still take revenge on them for his brother.

Why is everyone so hot and bothered about a farm? You'd think there would be hundreds of abandoned farms for people to settle into.

Glen needs to man up about maggie. That is the hottest thing he is going to see on the road

It seems that saying something like "There are plenty of other farms around here" would have been a good option for Rick, but my guess is this group was much more interested in a farm that currently had occupants. If there are survivors, there will be supplies, and abandoned farms would likely be pretty picked over.

That's where I knew him from! It was bugging the heck outta me.
Holy damn! I couldn't figure it out either. Kept thinking "maybe he's Jeremy Sisto's brother or something."

Yeah, a farm needs constant maintenance to run and farmwork experience to operate. Anything long since abandoned would be difficult to resuscitate for experienced farmers, with no experience it'd be all that much harder.

Plus they have a vet/doctor at this one.

PLEASE let the crash be fatal. This is probably the dumbest thing they have done on the show yet. And what mother would care what Shane might have done in order to save their son? Hershel really bothers me with the whole he knew how to take care of walkers - really so anyone that has messed with one should never die from one? Even if they are over ran by them? Ol boy was pretty out of shape, it is not like Shane was out with a Navy Seal and he was the one that made it back.

I've enjoyed the show from the very beginning. I had NO expectations about this mid-season opener... and it managed to disappoint.

One of the things that drew me to George Romero's early zombie films was the human interactions in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. The Walking Dead started out that way but has degenerated into human interactions with the occasional reminder that something isn't normal.

They might as well rename it to: "THIRTYSOMETHING: The Undead Generation".

It was alright. Not going to go into some indepth analysis.

Rick being a badass and taking out Britt and fatso was definitely the highlight of the episode. That was a really intense scene.

I'm glad Rick had some common sense to see these guys looked shady and it would have been a disaster to take them to the farm.

at Lori. What a stupid woman and pointless scene.
