Funny how this is being called the best and worst episode of the series. Lots of laughs as usual but the episode felt very manic, they tried to cram even more than usual into 20 minutes. I guess that's fitting with the plot of the episode though.
I'm starting to get annoyed with the 'Cam overreacting' plots. It feels like 50% of his screen time consists of him throwing up his hands and storming out of a room.

That line and Manny's reaction to the guy saying "I'll take the Butterball" were probably my favorite moments.
I have to admit that I share the sentiments of those who say it felt forced. The episode felt more like bits than usual. I thought the Phil getting tazed moment was a bit much.
I would be curious what the story behind this episode might be. I really appreciated the concept of the Express Christmas. That was my initial reaction to it. It made me think back to that Arrested Development episode where there were all those innuendos about the future of the show (the episode count getting cut, HBO, Showtime). At first, I thought maybe this episode was the writers' way of deliberately making fun of how all shows' special Christmas episodes air way before Christmas. I appreciated that because it sometimes does feel a bit absurd to be watching Christmas stuff this early in the month. But now with all the discussion about how the episode felt forced, manic, rushed, I wonder if they were given some type of mandate by the network with a short turnaround. A Christmas episode wasn't planned, but the network ended up insisting on one kind of thing. I'm sure that's not the case, but it would seem somewhat plausible.

Not their best episode, but still funny. Best moments were "Don't look back. Never look back!" and Haley pretending to work at Target to steal the night light.

Easily the worst of the series, but still had some decent moments. Problem I had is it felt forced and unnatural. Phil is always awesome though.

I wouldn't be surprised if this episode was the victim of editing. They likely had too much script/story for the 20 minutes and ended up cutting enough out that it felt rushed.

I think that Ty Burrell showed, as he has in the past, great physical comedy skill with the taser scene. It's not easy to pull of what he did and I think it was the highlight of a mixed show.

I loved Sarah Hylands look into the camera as she figures out a way to get the last toy from the customer.
I think this episode was great.

Hopefully the producers won't say it wasn't product placement and they just were fans of the product like they did for the iPad episode.

It's possible that after seeing the script the people at ABC went to Target to see if they wanted to be the store in the episode. I'm fine with having Target in there. It's better than a generic Shop N' Save or something which to me is the same as having a 555 phone number prefix.
