I don't care what it is so long as we get more Barry. I just hope he doesn't leave the show to do this.

Anybody know why Dave Hester has YUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPP! on his shirts, hats, trucks etc when what he yells out is YEP? Makes no sense to me.

You can blame Barry for that. He gave Dave a YUP hat as a joke and Dave ran with it.

i asked that same question earlier in this thread. "yup" hat as a gift seems like a stupid reason. he could have easily changed it.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

A&E is so overplaying this show. It's on almost every day. They have got to cut back a bit. At least Discovery has the good sense to take Deadliest Catch off in between seasons.

EDIT: News

http://www.thewrap.com/tv/column-pos...ing-wars-37003

A lot of junk will be purchased and hauled across the country on A&E this summer, as the network has ordered new, 26-episode seasons of its hit reality shows "Storage Wars," "Storage Wars: Texas" and "Shipping Wars."

All three shows will premiere their latest seasons this summer.

"Storage Wars," which debuted in 2010 and has become the cable network's highest-rated series, follows the adventures of a group of auction hunters. The new season will be the show's fourth.

Meanwhile, a spin-off series, "Storage Wars: Texas," premiered in December. Another spin-off, based in New York, is in development at the network.

A&E's latest "Wars" franchise -- "Shipping Wars" -- debuted on the network in January to three million viewers.

"America is at a crossroads where people are finding new ways to make money and earn a living," said David McKillop, executive vice president of programming for A&E. "We're holding a mirror up to this trend in our programming, and it's proven to be incredibly relatable to our viewers, yet remain highly entertaining."

I believe I saw the couple that Barry (and others) use to appraise items on an new Travel Channel show called "Baggage Battles". Same concept...unclaimed luggage instead of storage units.

BTW there is no mention of Hester leaving, so I'm assuming he's coming back.

He probably needs the money. Trey Songz counter-sued him with proof that he trademarked the YUUPP thing first.

If they hadn't worked things out, do you really expect that the A & E press release would read something like this "A&E has renewed three of its most popular shows : Storage Wars, Storage Wars Texas and Shipping Wars will all be back this Summer with new episodes. But Dave Hester won't"?

As much as I enjoy the show, it's repeated viewing value for me is zero. I don't know how A&E can run it 24/7 now a days.

Same here. It's one of my favorite shows but like all reality shows if I know the outcome I won't rewatch it.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

It pays to visit Starcasm once in a while.

Scarlet Johansson is a SW fan

Scarlett Johansson was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Wednesday night to promote her new film The Avengers, but before she got to the Marvel super-hero blockbuster (which is setting all sorts of opening weekend records btw), Scarlett talked a bit with Jay about her television viewing habits.

“As I remember, you like bizarre television,” Jay says. “You fixate on shows,” he adds.

“Well yeah, there are certain shows that I do like,” Scarlett replies. “Now I’m more into Storage Wars, which I just love that show.” [The audience erupts with thunderous applause]

The cast at Up Fronts in NYC. Darrell actually wore a shirt. Jarod still looks like a punk.

Barry Weiss's home. He lives next to Natalie Portman. Maybe he can bring her to the show.

That trailer was cracking me up all weekend. Glad to see that everybody is back, the chemistry works.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I'm not liking what I'm seeing. It is WAY more scripted now, like that whole stupid training skit Barry did. And the supposed father/son issue with Darrell and his kid reeks of bad acting and copying American Chopper.

Still, I was shouting out loud when Barry dug up that "Revenge of the Jedi" jacket. That was a huge find. The two guys who valued it? Oh yeah, that was staged.

I don't think it was "staged" in quite the way you're saying.

No doubt they were told to act that way but odds are Barry had no clue and was giving natural reactions to what he was seeing.

The show's certainly got its setups prepared but they seem to make sure to not let the cast actually be aware of them so all the reactions can be as natural as possible.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I don't know how anyone can not think the show is more scripted and staged after tonight's episode. The "split" between Darryl and his kid and Barry's antics with the money in his locker all reeked of scripting and bad acting.

Shame. We better get some good shots of Brandi or I'm going to lose interest real fast.

They must have offered Dave Hester a butt-load of money to stay on the show...

or he wised up and realized he couldn't pimp his scam of a business without the show.

That'd be my guess. A lot of these people forget that the show drives their business and they'd probably go under without it. Look at OCC on American Chopper...

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I was thinking Dave cut a deal where he gets a cut of the amount that he drives up a locker as that's all he's been doing lately. But then he actually made a comment about it.

I just can't see how his business is still around today anyway. When he's pricing stuff, it's just way too out there. At least the others at least go with a more reasonable amount most of the time.

One of the "experts" Barry usually goes to was on Hollywood Treasures recently. I thought "holy crap, that guy and store are real!".

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I like how Dave priced the hazmat locker at $1500, then Jarred priced it at $900. Both were probably high.
