Re: The Walking Dead -- "Save the Last One" -- 10/30/11
Quote: This was a good episode. I love the fact that Shane killed Otis, but it sucked that they made it so predictable. When it went from the scene of them trying to escape to him suddenly pulling up alone and saying Otis didn't make it, I pretty much knew that he had killed him. Otherwise, there was no reason for the episode to skip that section and NOT show what happened, unless Shane was lying. And why would he lie unless he'd done something shady?

If it had just happened in the course of the story instead of being flashbacked to in "the big reveal", I wouldn't have seen it coming. Other than that, I enjoyed this episode much more than the last 2.
I agree. But for me, the "tell" that Shane killed Otis was when Shane showed up with all of the equipment needed for the operation. Since they didn't grab extra stuff, it was pretty obvious that Shane took what Otis was carrying.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode.

I hope Otis finds solace with Curtis Lemansky in a place where the dead done wrong by someone named Shane is.

Quote: I can't complain much about this episode. Easily the most solid of the season, and one of the best overall. I agree the lighting and lenses made this one hard to follow in the dark, but it combined great character drama with solid zombie action, and what the fuck else can I ask for than that?

I've got to agree with this. One of the better episodes in the entire series, I thought.

Quote: Don't generalize. The real monster is Shane.
I have not read the comics nor plan to but from the comments here I sort of thought that behavior like Shane's was pretty common in the comics. Or is that incorrect?

I wouldn't say common, when it happens it's usually a shock.

But in the comics, people have told stories about the past (before we meet them) where they have had to kill people in order to survive.

Rick may be a pretty clean good-guy here, but in the comics he ends up making some pretty dark choices.
Spoiler:
He's made so many of those Shane-like choices without blinking now that he feels numb inside. There are really ratcheting up to a full breakdown.

Looks like we get the "whisper" at the CDC answered next week.

Spoiler:
Pregnancy clues are all over the hint so it looks like most of us guessed it.

How could Shane punch a zombie in the mouth without getting an infection?

No, you're right. I stand corrected.

One of the coolest things of the comics are the hard choices they have to make. This one seemed pretty abrupt though. I was taken by surprise and that threw me off a little.

Could people PLEASE stop posting spoilers from the comics? Aside from the fact that they spoil the comics for those of us that haven't read them, they also potential spoil the show.

I appreciate that some of you are spoiler tagging them, but many are not.

Prediction: They find Sophia, but she is a zombie. The mom will not let the group "dispose" of her. Darryl finishes them both off.

I'm enjoying season two but...something is missing from the show, seems to be going a little flat and needs to buck up a tad.

I'll stick with it a while yet though.

Quote: It seems like the girl having found her way to Hershel's house would have been the best fix for the little girl story.
The girl is playing out like Anna in L'Avventura . (My hoity toity film reference for the day.)
