Glad I didn't watch anything past the pilot episode, though I might have last night's recorded to check out Erica Durance guest appearance.

Surprised beacuse of the tremendous push this show got. As well as the history that it has.
Not surprised, because it was terrible. Minka Kelly needs to get on another show fast.

Sorry, I guess that FOX is the winner this season, in this category at least. No cancelled shows yet (out of the big 5 networks). Last year they were first with Lone Star, I believe. Of course they only have premiered 3 new shows so far (X-Factor, Terra Nova, New Girl).

You can add TNT's "Memphis Beat" to the list. It won't be returning for a 3rd season.

I guess it's more Chipmunk movies for Jason Lee. Memphis Beat on TNT has been cancelled.

Actually, he'll be showing up on Up All Night as a love interest for Maya Rudolph's character, but according to IMDB he is in the new Chipmunks movie.

IIRC, it had a hard time even getting a pilot made, much less getting picked up by ABC. At least, that's what it seemed here at Sony.

I thought it was Ashton's show on CW that was canceled first?

Josh Friedman from Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles was originally hired to develop the show and wrote the 1st Pilot script IIRC. But, he was dropped and Sony went with Gough and Millar from Smallville to develop it.

Acting and scripts aside, it seems like alot of people had a major problem with the casting of the Angels. Minka Kelly was fine, but alot of Internet posters were very Meh about the 2 other girls.

Re: CANCELLED Shows - Post them as it happens

I'm really surprised it took three weeks to get the first cancellation. It's almost like none of the networks wanted to be first to cancel this year, but once NBC axed Playboy they all started dumping shows.

IMO, Terra Nova is next. I'm not sure why I'm watching the show but I am. That said they are spending millions on it and its not that good. I'm probably going to give up on it knowing that its so bad its going to get cancelled. What's sad is that I think Hollywood can't write for sh*t these days, movies are all remakes and no new scripted tv shows make it. (Outside a few) I'm tired of reality shows. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix it.

Terra Nova won't get cancelled for two reasons:

A) It's numbers aren't that bad. At least not nearly as bad as Playboy or Charlie's Angels.

B) Fox has sunk way too much money into it. They'll air the all 13 episodes ordered. It might not get renewed for more, but it will certainly finish out the first season.

Also, plenty of scripted shows make it, you just have to look beyond the 4 broadcast networks.

The other two actresses did nothing for me. Casting on a show like Charlie's Angels is critical. No one is watching a show like that for well-developed characterizations or intricate plotting. You need stunning actresses who do not look like they were just picked from a runway.

Re: CANCELLED Shows - Post them as it happens

Also with Charlie's angels, remember back in the 70s, mega hot babes who kicked ass were reasonably rare on tv and film, now it's commonplace (buffy, alias, chuck, nikita to name just a few)

So the remake needed to have more than that going for it and it didn't. I feel sorry for Minka, she is a genuine star

Interesting. It seemed from a viewers point of view, that it was one of the two shows that we heard the most about the earliest. Terra Nova being the other. Surprised me that they would pull it so quick given the two movies that were made, as well as the original series seem to prove there is (was?) a market for a show like that.

Exactly. The cast looked like they belonged in a Sex in the City type show, not Charlie's Angels.

I rewatched the odd original charlies angels episode and boy the women in that show (Jaclyn, Kate, Farrah, Cheryl) were just something else. Not just for their looks, for their presence
