Due to the nature of live sports programming the ratings for NBC (NFL Football), Fox (NFL Overrun, 7-8pm) and CBS (Regional overruns) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.
Of course the Sunday Night Football game between the NY Jets and New England Patriots will top the night for adults 18-49 and total viewers, but we'll have to wait for the final ratings to know by how much. Comparing just the primetime portions of the fast affiliate ratings, NBC's Sunday Night Football New England Patriots vs. New York Jets posted a 7.3 adults 18-49 rating from 8:30-11p, down from last week's Sunday night matchup (Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers), which delivered a 7.9 rating from 8:30-11p in the Fast Nationals before rising to an 8.8 rating from 8:31-11:48p in the Finals.
The Simpsons fell 5% vs. last week to a 3.5 adults 18-49 rating. Allen Gregory dropped a tenth from last week to a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating. Family Guy was even with last week's 3.1 adults 18-49 rating and American Dad fell a tenth from last week to a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating.
Once Upon A Time was even with last week's 3.8 adults 18-49 rating. Desperate Housewives rose 7% to a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating. Pan Am was up a tenth of a point vs. last week to a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating. Still headed for Cancellation International Airport. Earlier in the evening, America's Funniest Home Videos rose 13% vs. its last new episode three weeks ago to a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating.
CBS had regional overruns of 29 minutes in about 12% of the US [atl, stl, new orl, phil, dc, balt, mia, cle] so expect adjustments to these preliminary numbers, so making comparisons to previous episodes is folly (but expect it to happen in other TV media) 60 Minutes had a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating. The Amazing Race drew a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating and The Good Wife scored a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating. CSI: Miami notched a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

The X Factor was even with last week's 3.8 adults 19-49 rating, and that was enough to put Fox on top of the night's adults 18-49 ratings.
With ABC back to its normal Wednesday line up the week off didn't do it any favors, and The Middle fell 3% vs. its last new episode two weeks ago to a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. Suburgatory also fell, down 10% to a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. Modern Family dropped 4% to a season low 5.5 adults 18-49 rating. Happy Endings was down 6% to a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating. Revenge dipped 13% to a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating.
After being smacked a bit by the CMAs last week, CBS was up across the board as Survivor rose a tenth of a point vs. last week to a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating. Criminal Minds got a nice bump, up three tenths (9%) vs. last week to a 3.7 adults 18-49 rating. CSI was up a tenth of a point vs. last week to a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating.
NBC's Up All Night rose 6% vs. last week to a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating. Harry's Law dropped 15% to a season low 1.1 adults 18-49 rating. Law & Order: SVU was steady with last week's season low 1.9 adults 18-49 rating.
CW's America's Next Top Modelstrong> was even with last week's 0.8 adults 18-49 rating.

We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our source. If you don't see an original episode of a show here, it's because it wasn't in the top 100. If the show you're looking for isn't in the list, it doesn't mean it went down or even necessarily that it's lower than the shows in the list below, it just means we didn't see it.

Modern Family and American Horror Story are kicking a tremendous amount of ass in the ratings.
On the Plus Side, Grimm continues to do well with a 5+ rating on a dead Friday.
That's what Terra Nova pulled in terms of total viewers. It technically pulled a 2.1 where it counts w/ 6.99m viewers (total # of viewers means much less than that 18 - 49) so there's still some hope for it, though a 2.1 is low for a show of this budget. It's one of the reasons why New Girl (3.3 rating), despite only pulling 6.79m viewers, is considered to be as valuable as a half hour of NCIS:LA (3.0 rating), which pulls 16.35m.
Grimm is pulling a 1.6 on Friday night which is low but not horrible when you compare it against its main competition (Supernatural and Fringe). If they are keeping the budget low on it the show could be safe.

ABC comedies led ABC to an easy victory with adults 18-49 (CBS had a slight edge with press release friendly total viewers). The Middle was even with last week with a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating. Suburgatory was also even with a 2.9 rating. Modern Family fell nearly 11% to a 5.1 adults 18-49 rating though it was still easily the night's highest-rated show. Happy Endings was down a tenth to a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating. Revenge dropped a tenth to a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating.
The new day/time for Whitney drew a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating at 8pm and the debut of Are You There, Chelsea? drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating. Sadly, the real question is "Are You There, American Idol?" Last night the answer was no, but next week is a different story...
CW's One Tree Hill returned with the best numbers in the time period for nearly a year, with a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating, a 1.2 adults 18-34 rating, a 1.8 women 18-34 rating to go along with its 1.75 million viewers.
The People's Choice Awards scored a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating between 8-10p...

Rob premiered to a 4.1 adults 18-49 rating, which is none too shabby. But don't get ahead of yourself. First, next week it faces the Thursday season premiere of American Idol, second keep in mind that back in the day $#*! My Dad Says premiered with a 4.0 preliminary adults 18-49 rating before ultimately fading (to what still would've been good ratings for a comedy on any network not named CBS) and getting canceled. Still, CBS had its best 8:30p Thursday performance for a regularly scheduled program in viewers and adults 18-49 since Survivor on May 13, 2010.
Person Of Interest saw highs with adults 18-49 (3.2) and total viewers (14.7 million). The Mentalist's 2.7 adults 18-49 rating was even versus its last original. Earlier in the night The Big Bang Theory's 5.2 adults 18-49 rating was up 13% from its last original in early December.
ABC was second on the night though against original competition this week it fell across-the-board vs. last week. Wipeout was down 19% to a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating and Grey's Anatomy was down 16% to a 3.8 adults 18-49 rating. Private Practice was down 11% to a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating.
30 Rock returned with a modest (by NBC standards) 1.8 adults 18-49 rating, down 31% from last season's premiere and its lowest rated season premiere ever. Parks & Recreation averaged a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, up 13% from its last original five weeks ago and The Office's 2.9 adults 18-49 rating was flat vs. its last original. Up All Night's 2.0 in its new day/time was up 5% from its last Wednesday original. The Firm in its normal timeslot fell 29% to a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating. Hello, Saturday night?
Over on Fox it was a different story. Fox launched The Finder with an episode of Bones and that didn't go too well. Bones, on its own at 8p, could muster only a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating and the premiere of The Finder at 9pm could only find a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. Normally that would lead to some very quick prognostications of doom, but all hope is not lost. Next week The Finder has the benefit of an American Idol lead in.

I think The Firm may get 1 more airing there, but realistically there is nothing to put there. I don't think NBC will want to waste Awake there and it's doubtful they will want to try comedy there again. I recall the 30 Rock/Outsourced hour last season was regarded as a failure. So don't hold your breath for Community to take The Firm's place.

I find it intersting in this forum that the NBC comedies are very popular and the threads get alot of activity and discussion and yet they are the least watched shows in the country. While the popular top rated 1 hour dramas like Person of Interest, The Vampire Diaries and The Mentalist only get a blip here and there even though they have alot of serialized storylines that carry over episode to episode. I know Thursday is a pretty busy night, but is it just the time commitment? I guess it's easier to watch 4 sitcoms than 4 1 hour dramas in 1 night.

With the 5 English broadcast networks all in new epdisodes (first time in 2012?), Fox topped the nights adults 18-49 ratings, but American Idol posted year to year decline similar to Wednesday night. And once the night of "Must See TV", NBC beat Univision by just 0.2 points among adults 18-49.
Update: Fox had Nielsen do a rush job on the time zone adjusted final national ratings and American Idol was adjusted up to a 5.7 adults 18-49 rating, which was down 27% vs. the 7.8 rating for last season's Thursday premiere. <del>No word on the half hour adjustments, BBT fans.</del>
Update 2: Idol updated half hours were a 5.2 and 6.3, so until we see BBT final adjustments, the 8pm hour is a tie.

Football just slaughtered everyone. American Idol got 19.8M viewers and 7.9 at 11pm ET/8pm PT because of football running long. It will re-air on Tuesday at 8pm.
at least Pan Am beat the series finale of Prime Suspect.
