The series premiere of Fox's Terra Nova drew a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating from 8-10pm on Monday. That was below what a majority of our polled readers expected, and has to be disappointing for Fox. Update: Fox has tweeted that Terra Nova was adjusted up to a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating in the time zone adjusted ratings. I will have all the final ratings for Monday night on the site later today, likely about 6pm Eastern.
CBS easily won the night with adults 18-49 as Two and Half Men fell 33% from its lofty premiere, but still scored a big 7.2 adults 18-49 rating and 20.03 million viewers. How I Met Your Mother declined just 6% vs. last week's premiere to a 4.4 adults 18-49 rating. Moving to its regular timeslot, 2 Broke Girls settled down 37% vs. its premiere to a still impressive 4.5 adults 18-49 rating. The season premiere of Mike & Molly drew a series high 4.9 adults 18-49 rating, and Hawaii Five-0's 3.3 adults 18-49 rating was down just 3% from its premiere last week. Without Charlie Sheen, CBS, Winning.
ABC's Dancing with the Stars fell 18% from its premiere to a series low 3.3 adults 18-49 rating, while Castle slipped a more modest 9% vs. its premiere to a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating.
NBC's The Sing-Off fell 11% to a series low 1.7 adults 18-49 rating, and The Playboy Club making a move to be the first show canceled of the new season tumbled 19% to a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating.
In the second week of the broadcast season, NBC was beaten by Univision for adults 18-49. I expect the cries of "You should have kept Chuck on Monday!" to begin presently.
The CW's season premiere of Gossip Girl drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating, down 20% vs. last season's premiere, but slightly above its ratings level last spring. The series premiere of Hart Of Dixie drew the same 0.8 adults 18-49 rating making it the nets lowest rated rookie premiere.
More coming, refresh.

Playboy Club probably won't survive the week.
As far as a 2nd season goes, I think FOX would probably need to re-evaluate the costs.
What do they have to put in its place? Could they put Chuck there? Back on Mondays, though the time slot is later. It might do better there as FOX and CW don't air shows at the time.

Ratings-wise, New Girl is doing great. It's almost a lock for a full season. But, it's getting alot of hate here.
New Girl was created by Liz Meriwether who is executive producing with Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope and helmer Jake Kasdan, who directed both the pilot and last night’s second episode. “We love the charming Zooey Deschanel and the entire cast, we’re knocked out with the work that Liz Meriwether and the whole staff is doing and we are really psyched about the upcoming episodes in the pipeline,” Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly said. “It’s great that audiences have responded so positively so far and we’re confident that even more people will embrace the show — and more comedy on Fox — this season.” New Girl is the first new fall series to get a back-nine order. It will probably be followed by another new comedy, CBS’ 2 Broke Girls, which also opened strong and did well in Week 2; another comedy with two solid showings, NBC’s Up All Night, should be close behind. Other newcomers that look promising after one airing include CBS’ Person of Interest, ABC’s Revenge and Pan Am and NBC’s Whitney.

The X Factor's 3.9 adults 18-49 rating was enough to lift Fox on top of the adults 18-49 ratings for the night, but it was down 11% from last week's premiere Wednesday.
Again, post-premiere ratings declines varied, and for the second time this week NBC was beaten by Univision among adults 18-49. Yikes.
NBC's Up All Night 2.1 adults 18-49 rating was down 13% from last week. Free Agents fell 23% to a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating (it may beat The Playboy Club off the air). Harry's Law stayed steady vs. last week, and low, at just a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating. Law & Order: SVU's 2.0 adults 18-49 rating was down 17% from its premiere last week. 2.4
ABC's The Middle was down 16% from its premiere to a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating. The series premiere of Suburgatory drew a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating, up 27% vs. the premiere of Better With You last Fall. Our polled readers were too pessimistic. Modern Family slipped just a bit, down 8% to a 5.6 adults 18-49 rating. The season premiere of Happy Endings scored a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating, down 6% from last season's Cougar Town premiere on the same night last Fall. avg. Revenge's 2.7 adults 18-49 rating fell 18% from last week's premiere.
CBS's Survivor: South Pacific 3.1 adults 18-49 rating was down 3% vs. last week. Criminal Minds' was down 12% from its premiere to a 3.6 adults 18-49 rating. CSI fell just 6% from its premiere to a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating.
CW's H8R was up 50% (0.2!) ratings points from last week to a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. America's Next Top Model was up a tenth from last week to a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating.

Free Agents is sooooo DOA.
Harry's Law needs to move back to Monday at 10pm (it's old timeslot) At least it stayed above 2.0 there.
Criminal Minds is maintaining its levels (consistently getting between 12-14m viewers per week, same as last season IIRC) and same old, same old at 10pm.

But yeah, < 50% drop is actually seen as a solid hold, and it's inline with the other non-Modern Family ABC shows of the night.
Solid opening for Suburgatory. It actually grew from The Middle and performed better than Happy Endings.

There have been rampant rumors this week that NBC is cancelling underperforming new series The Playboy Club and Free Agents, which have logged 2 and 3 low-rated airings, respectively, dropping double-digits week-to-week. But despite speculation, word is NBC won’t be pulling any new series this week as NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt wants to give all freshmen more time. That is a departure from traditional network MO in the case of fall shows with such underwhelming launches. Last year, Fox’s Lone Star and ABC’s My Generation were canceled after 2 airings each. They drew a 1.0 and 1.1 demo rating, respectively, just before they were pulled. This week, Free Agents and The Playboy Club posted a 1.0 and a 1.3, respectively. But despite the shows’ grim ratings prospects, they are expected to get another chance. Word is that Greenblatt wants to send a message to the creative community that he will give their shows on NBC every possible chance to succeed. (And those are not even shows he had developed.) Greenblatt comes from the cable world, where series are given a season-long run to find their footing before a decision on their future is made. In the realities of the broadcast business, keeping a high-end drama or comedy on the air at a 1 demo rating level for more than a couple of weeks is prohibitive. But, since viewers are still sampling shows and tweaking their viewing patterns for the new season, NBC is willing to wait for that process to settle before sacking the biggest underachievers. (In addition to Playboy and Free Agents, also in danger is the network’s Prime Suspect, which opened with a disappointing 1.9 18-49 rating last week.)
NBC’s Greenblatt showed similar patience in mid-season with low-rated new comedy Perfect Couples, though The Paul Reiser show was canceled after 2 episodes as the widely panned comedy started at 1.1 rating and dipped to a 0.9 in the second airing. As for Playboy Club, there has been a lot of speculation that the new Brian Williams prime time magazine might be eyed as a replacement in the Monday 10 PM slot. While the new program is not quite ready yet, making it unlikely that it can be summoned up right away, it appears its premiere will be well before the original mid-season target date.

On Fox, The X Factor's second Thursday outing scored a 3.8 adults 18-49 rating, down 12% from last Thursday's premiere, but that was still enough to put Fox on top the night's adults 18-49 ratings race. Note that X Factor has typically had adjustments in the final ratings that have tended to close that decline.
CBS's The Big Bang Theory's 4.8 adults 18-49 rating was down just a tenth (2%) from last week's premiere. The series premiere of How To Be A Gentleman registered just a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating (for comparison, last season $#*! My Dad Says started with a 4.0). Our polled readers turned out to be optimistic. Person Of Interest drew a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating down 13% from last week's series premiere. 3.1. The Mentalist's 2.5 adults 18-49 rating was down 11% from its premiere.
ABC's Charlie's Angels 1.5 adults 18-49 rating was down 29% from last week's premiere. Grey's Anatomy dropped to a 3.5 adults 18-49 rating, down 15% from last week's 2 hour premiere. The Private Practice season premiere drew a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating, down 15% from last Fall's premiere.
NBC's Community drew a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating, up 6% vs. last week's premiere. Parks & Recreation's 2.1 rating was even with last week's premiere. The Office dipped 13% from its premiere to a 3.4 adults 18-49 rating. While Whitney slid 24% to a 2.5 rating. Prime Suspect's 1.5 adults 18-49 rating was down 17% from its premiere last week.
CW's The Vampire Diaries rose to a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating, up 8% from last week. The Secret Circle's 0.9 adults 18-49 rating was even with last week.

I said it before, we are way past the hey days of TV where stuff gets 25-30M viewers a week. So many people in this country watch TV on their own schedule with the DVR.
