Fall 2011 Season: What new dramas are you excited about?
The Fall TV season has descended upon us. So what dramas are you most anticipating? (Not just what you're going to check out, but what you're really psyched to see.)
Note that you can vote for more than one show.

The one that I'm most excited for is Terra Nova....Dinosaurs and produced by Steven Spielberg.
Others that I'm really psyched about:
Ringer.....Buffy's back with Richard Alpert
The Secret Circle...from the makers of Vampire Diaries
Person of Interest....JJ Abrams + Jesus and Ben Linus
Revenge....Interesting premise
Prime Suspect....Yeah I know it's going to get compared to the Helen Mirren UK version, but we need more hot female cops on TV.
Homeland (Showtime)....Damian Lewis and from the producer of 24
Awake (midseason)....This IMO has the most unique/intriguing premise of all the new shows. Too bad it's being held until midseason.
Missing (midseason)....Ashley Judd on TV....enough said.
Alcatraz (midseason)....JJ Abrams and ghosts
American Horror Story....Connie Britton back on TV
Touch (midseason)....Kiefer Sutherland....enough said
Hell on Wheels.....Serialized western
I can't say I'm fired up to see it, but I'm looking forward to checking out Hart of Dixie mainly because Rachel Bilson is ridiculously cute.
Playboy Club is intriguing to me, but I'm not optimistic it will make it past 13 episodes since it's on the Monday at 10pm timeslot vs Castle and Hawaii Five-O

American Horror Story, Hell on Wheels and The Secret Circle are must sees from what I've seen of them so far. I'll catch Ringer, but I am not necessarily excited by it.

It was Awake. It's a shame it's being held like DJaryia said.
With that out it's a tie between Terra Nova and Prime Suspect. I love me some Maria Bello.

DJariya, are you a retired millionaire or do you work from home or something? How in the world do you have time to watch all these shows

So far, just Terra Nova, followed by Person of Interest. Alcatraz and Awake also get honorable mentions but not on my list since they won't start until midseason.

Hell on Wheels and Secret Circle are my most anticipated. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping Terra Nova, Once Upon a Time and American Horror Story don't suck.
And I'm probably the only one here, but I think Pan Am looks like a lot of fun, sort of a lighter version of Mad Men.

Nope. I do work, but I work mostly nights and have time during the day and late evening to watch stuff. And honestly, why does it matter? I'm not married and don't have kids, so I have the time when I'm not doing more important stuff or visiting friends.

American Horror Story has a great cast with Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton and Jessica Lange. Since it's from Ryan Murphy and on FX, I hope he brings out the edge like he did with Nip/Tuck.....maybe seeing Connie Britton in more provocative clothes...

Just curious, that's all, no need to get agitated by the question.

When I saw the names of the new shows, I didn't know a single thing about one of them, so I'd say none.
I'll probably just wait for threads to pop up here and, being out west, wait for some opinions and some descriptions and watch a few of them and just see if anything turns out good.
I did see a commercial for the SMG show and all I could see was Buffy. I doubt the show will be good, because she hasn't done anything good since Buffy, but if all I can see her as is a character she used to play, that might be a problem unless the show is outstanding...and that's highly unlikely.

Awake looks to be one of the most interesting and original scripted dramas in a long time, so it's probably my most anticipated.
Touch because of Kiefer Sutherland.
American Horror Story, Hell On Wheels, and Terra Nova as well. I'm sure I'm missing a few. I need to make a list of what I'm going to try and watch this season before it's too late.

I just read as of last month, Powers completed principal photography on the Pilot. It still needs to go through post production. FX's President hasn't decided on ordering it to series yet, but the soonest it will be ready to go would be summer 2012.

I was going to pick Awake as well, but it's not listed.
Others I plan on checking out, although not necessarily excited for - Heart of Dixie, Revenge, Grimm and Secret Circle.

Re: Fall 2011 Season: What new dramas are you excited about?
None of them. I'm not watching any new broadcast tv shows this season since they invariably cancel the ones I like (plus it frees up time and tuners for me to follow the fall/winter sports I like). Now if something succeeds, has an interesting premise, gets renewed and re-aired over the summer, maybe I'll give it a shot then.
That leaves the F/X show....while I usually give F/X shows a shot (given how many good-great shows they've put out), it's not a genre that interests me.

Needless to say, my season pass list has a few openings so I'm checking a few out this year.

Personally, I don't worry about if a show gets canceled prematurely. That's the nature of the business, and there are always other shows to take its place.

Re: Fall 2011 Season: What new dramas are you excited about?
Yes, but seriously, every new show, save Hawaii-Five-O (which I watch more for unintentional comedy), I watched last year got canned. I just think broadcast networks are so quick to pull the trigger now. If that's the nature of the business, fine, that's their choice (although The Defenders cancellation boggles the mind given that it was winning its timeslots). So my choice is that I'd rather give my time and attention to cablenet offerings. At least I know we'll get a full season no matter what the ratings.
