Here's my question. Why is Skhailrrre so concerned with a $325 bottle of wine when they just dumped $800K on a car wash business??

I don't feel too bad for him. He was a dick to Walt and its not like the $800k Skylark is giving him isn't fair value.

I loved the little part at the start where Walt admires the coffee setup on technical grounds...and then a minute later remembers what he & Jesse did to the guy who designed it.
One part that I couldn't suspend my disbelief for is the EPA guy (or wherever he was supposed to be from) getting the guy to sell that fast. I'd assume the car wash owner would want forms on top of forms, need several phonecalls back to the HQ, etc. The ruse would probably break down somewhere.

That made me wonder as well. If Skailr & Walt are supposed to be broke, won't it raise a red flag that they would buy a $800K car wash operation? I guess it's a glitch in the writing.

I was puzzled that Pscylur wouldn't have already told the fake EPA guy the details and exact laws the car wash dude was supposedly violating, rather than having to wing it through the earpiece.
The Marie stuff was pretty boring, IMHO. I get why they did it, and yeah, she pulled it off as an actress, but it couldn't have ended soon enough.

I imagine the purchase of the car wash is seen as a business decision and will be semi hidden by using Saul. Buying a $325 bottle of wine is a red flag, especially when bought in public with cash.

I was wishing for hilarious hijinks where the EPA guy would repeat everything Skyline was saying, so when she was talking to the baby he would start doing that to the carwash guy.

There should be a good explanation of why they are able to buy the car wash. These are the Breaking Bad writers, they always deliver.
And LOL! at you guys, cstoblin is going to be mad when he reads all the replies.

loving the season so far. Betsy Brandt's Marie really bugs me and not in the supposed to be way the show is writing her character.
Skybucket's patience is so palpable that it made me tense. and figured the $800k spent would be filtered by Saul somehow, perhaps forge some re-financing the mortgage papers or getting a second one on the house sort of thing.

If Saul did his work properly and Skylard doesn't run her mouth too much we should be able to sidestep any IRS sub-plot. Frankly that doesn't sound overly interesting.

at all the spellings of Skyler.KStublen, you opened up a Pandora's box with your observation/correction.

Where the hell is Walter Jr. this season? Are these his budget episodes?

I thought that they were buying the carwash with Walt's windfall gaming winnings (that Saul was going to get a few casino managers to forge losses for) ... though then the champagne shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, that's where I got stumped. I assumed they would just make it look like the car wash was bought with gambling winnings, but then why the freakout about the expensive champagne?

Oh goodie, Marie's kleptomania is back. That was by far my least favorite subplot of the whole series.
Although I did like when she showed the cop friend in to see Hank, Hank's response was "What now? Did she rob a bank?"

Yeah, I hadn't quite expected that response. It's just annoying to see people continually spell a character's name wrong after 3 years. Same with being spelling Jerry from Parks And Recreation as Gerri. Oh well, at least there are some pretty clever ways at spelling her name.

I liked having a Marie and Skyylurhh-centric episode for a change of pace. Marie is batshit crazy
.
Agreed. That scene was just silly, and a rare misfire for this show.

Not everyone rushes off to IMDb after each episode.
I liked her in this episode. I agree with Walt, she did great.
Jesse on the other hand...not liking his story line at all. Not interesting.

... and it doesn't make sense with the discussion about how broke they are ... UNLESS they haven't claimed the winnings yet. However, that's a huge gap considering the bills that they've already paid to Hank.

She did great because the writers wanted it to work out that way. This is one of the few examples where I think Breaking Bad has gone the lazy route rather than the logical route. When you think about it, it really doesn't make sense that the guy would just sell his car wash so quickly without evaluating his options. Not to mention he just had an offer from Skyler, and then some random guy who is the regular's replacement is suddenly gone? Seems suspicious, and you'd think he would've double-checked or called someone to follow up, especially since he knew he was using the right types of chemicals and not causing any harm to the environment.
