Re: The Big Brother 13 after dark thread
I think Kalia's noms were a mistake. It needed to be Jeff and Jordan or Rachel and a pawn (Shelly?). By putting up both Rachel and Jeff, Kalia has set up no good option for herself post eviction. If Rachel stays, she's a fruitloop whose whims come and go. She's not a reliable alliance partner for anyone but Brendon, and he has to put in a lot of damage control.
Jeff should be at least the number two target, but he shouldn't have gone up unless Rachel came down. Why antagonize both he and Jordan unnecessarily?

I still love Kalia's screaming decree that she's now going to play the game so hard the jury will have no choice but to unanimously award her the win and she'll accept nothing less.
NOT. GONNA. HAPPEN.

Re: The Big Brother 13 after dark thread
I've still not really been keeping up that much. Just check in when I have time to some of the comments on Joker's. I have to admit, as much as I can't stand Kalia, it looks like she's going to keep her word with Jordan that she'd never put her up--even as a replacement. She continues to tell her own allies that she's considering Porsche or Adam.
Still, with this week being the week where Grodner is the real HOH, I can't even get excited that there might be some major shakeup. Even if somehow Rachel could get the votes to stay and Porsche went home (would anyone really notice?), she'd still be in the same position as anyone else where she'd be able to play against Cassi or Dom to get a chance to go right back in.
There is really no genuine drama this week. It all comes down to who wins the vote and who wins the competition to return. And even though I'd like Cassi to return, certainly at first, she'd be the least likely person to cause a shakeup inside the house.

I think I'd rather they do some kind of "Redemption Island" style competition between all of the evicted house guests instead of this vote for one to compete with the one evicted this week.

I don't know why but I'm finding the '11:11 messages to Brendon' from the HN room so much fun and cute. Guess because we know Brendon isn't watching them (and has a good chance of coming back) they're coming across as 'just for BBAD viewers' little things, like last week's backyard wedding (which CBS didn't show at all, surprisingly). Even if they don't really like dealing with her BS Jeff & Jordan play ball with Rachel and it feels like a cozy, intimate little get-together. Love it!
P.S.: holy shit, Adam just gave a shout-out to New Paltz in Upstate NY as the place he'd be (mountain climbing) if he weren't locked in the BB house. I lived in New Paltz when I moved to the States in 1989, went to HS and college there and still have family/relatives living there.

I think Rachel's permanent zits on her chin may hold the cure. (I felt like Britney typing that)

Now Britney was a total hottie and she'd better be on the next All-Star season.
I got kind of pissed because in the Rivals thread someone took a personal shot at me for showing some passion in my post about the people on the show and how they behaved. But, the person totally missed the point. Showing passion, good or bad about the people on a reality show, means you are being entertained...even if it's by a trainwreck. I wish I could have 1/2 the kind of passion about this season of BB as Rivals, but it's been pretty dreadful so far.

She looked good in the cop outfit though didn't she?!
I agree that Cassi would win but the way the housewife vote is going, Dom is going to go back in the house.

Re: The Big Brother 13 after dark thread
MAJOR disagreement (not a fight per-se, i.e. no screams or blow-outs) between Kalia and Daniele about who the former should put up as a replacement nominee when Jeff uses POV on himself. Per Shelly (who planted the thought) Kalia wants to put up and evict Posche (assuming there's a good chance she's coming back with Thursday's twist) and try to convince the house to keep Rachel so she's swayed to their side (i.e. away from Jeff & Jordan) if she (Kalia) can extract from Rachel a promise she won't put up Kalia or Daniele on the block. Dani is not happy about this and is doing her darnest to change Kalia's mind, but Kalia outright told her she wants to make her own mind and not be perceived as Dani's puppet. Right now Kalia and Dani are poe'd at each other (the latter more than the former) and it's all because of Shelly!
Although there's logic to what Kalia is doing/thinking (she's already thinking about Jury votes and, like J&J, realizes keeping Rachel in the house on her side makes her a bigger target than her and Dani) she was obviously a much better floater than HOH. The obvious person to nominate is Jordan (to get Rachel in and maybe out) but Kalia's honoring her promise not to put her up could be her (and Dani's) undoing. Shelly is really playing to Kalia's insecurities by pretending to be spying on her behalf (i.e. telling Kal that everyone else besides Dani is gunning for Kalia) when in fact Shelly is acting on Jeff, Jordan's and (to a lesser extent) Rachel's behest.

Re: The Big Brother 13 after dark thread
^^^ You're correct, I've fixed my comments above. If Shelly keeps this up she just might win America's Favorite Player by the fact she's having an influence in the game and not much blood on her hands to show for it. If she somehow were to get to Final 3 or 4 with Jeff and Jordan and then stabs one of them in the back to get to Final 2 this season would be so redeemed.
Then again, 24 hours from now it could be Shelly that's on the block next to Rachel (Kalia and Dani need to make-up and agree on a nominee; they're tied too closely together to split now) and fighting Brendon or Dom for the chance to come back.

Re: The Big Brother 13 after dark thread
BIRTHDAY BOY SAYS HI (from Jokers):

Very good "After Dark" tonight with Shelly and Daniele tugging Kalia from one side to another about whether to put Porsche up or not. These two have such strong personalities (pushover-Dom Kalia is not) that Daniele seeing her chances of influencing who goes out this week through Kalia's HOH disappear in front of her eyes is so much fun. If Shelly, Daniele and Kalia were to talk it out in front of everybody the BB house would explode right now.
Of course it's only Sunday night. By Thursday night who the hell knows where everybody's alliances/votes will be (three weeks ago Jeff was on his way to a certain backdoor eviction before the POV ceremony turned things upside down).

Re: The Big Brother 13 after dark thread
Are you fucking kidding me??!! Lawon has volunteered to Kalia as a pawn to ensure Rachel's departure or, if he's evicted, to spy/tattletale on who he talks to during the week trying to garner votes. Lawon really thinks that AFTER he's evicted -though he's convinced Rachel would be voted off- the evicted houseguest comes back as an automatic HOH to ensure that person's safety for a week.
And of course, as soon as she has a free moment Kalia goes to Shelly and tells her all about Lawon's offer. Shelly of course turns around and shares this info with Jeff and Adam.
WHERE DO THEY GET THESE PEOPLE??!!

Kalia just nominated Lawon (with Lawon's blessing). Either her and Lawon are two of the dumbest players ever or CBS just cut them both a paycheck in the DR.
Reasons for how this could have happened:
1. Kalia and Lawon are both dumb as fuck.
2. Shelly is a fucking genius.
3. CBS is being blatant as fuck in getting involved this season. (and hired Shelly to protect their Jeff and Jordan)

That is one of the dumbest moves in reality show history. Rachel is going to stay on the show now.

Re: The Big Brother 13 after dark thread
I only started following "BB" since season 10 but I honestly don't understand how there can be fans of the game that only rely on the CBS edited version of the show to follow the game. From what people saw on Sunday (Jeff and Rachel on the block) to what they'll see on Wednesday's POV ceremony (Jeff taking himself off the block and Lawon 'volunteering' to take his place) there's been a whirlwind of sneak-around seed planting (Shelly), self-doubt (Kalia), out-of-control loss of confidence (Dani about Shelly/Kalia) and behind-the-back almost-backstabbing (Porsche doesn't know really close she was to getting backdoored). All these happenings were thrilling to watch/follow on the feeds, Jokers' recaps and the "After Dark" Showtime show, but on CBS' Wednesday show it'll be compressed to a few minutes after the POV competition/ceremony eats up a good 45% of the running time.
As someone that found Brenchel's backyard wedding charming and amusing (none of which made it to the CBS show) the idea that network "BB" is how 90% of fans know what's happening on the game just boggles my mind. This isn't a game you can follow digest-form (like "Survivor"), to get the maximum bang for your "BB" fandom you have to watch feeds and follow recaps daily. I just can't fathom how people will react when Lawon, who hasn't stood out in his diary sessions except for his flamboyance, wounds up on the block and evicted instead of what everyone expected to see (again, based on the CBS Sunday edit): certaintity that either Rachel or Jeff were going out.

I don't really like her, but she's on "my" side of the house right now and if this floater loses to Cassi and Dani doesn't win HOH, it should finally get exciting inside the house.

Re: The Big Brother 13 after dark thread
The plan right now is to keep Rachel and vote Lawon out (I don't know if Lawon understands that part of the deal, -he's acting as if he didn't agree to be the pawn). Of course, Kalia is counting on Lawon coming back via the twist and says she'll be pissed if he doesn't. Of course, if Dom comes back, Danielle will be pleased, but Kalia may suddenly find herself taking a back seat to him. If it turns out to be Brendan, it would be fun to see Kalia and Danielle's heads explode. If its Cassi, I'm not sure what happens next...
