It's not the first time that particular costume has appeared. Apparently they were offered the Christopher Reeve costume but the showrunners didn't think it was a good fit for the show and went for the Brandon Routh costume instead.

I'm hoping they change the neckline on the Superman Returns costume (but I doubt it), it was a terrible re-design of the classic suit.

I hope at the very least they brighten the colours of the suit. Unless Clark is gonna get hammered on his first outting as Superman and fight against himself, he shouldn't be sporting the drunk Superman colours.

For a person who grew up watching TV in the 60's and 70's, it still catches me when a family show like Smallville utters, "Son of a b*tch!" Times, they do change.

I loved this episode, found it thoroughly enjoyable. Except I hated this episode with a freaking passion. Bottom line, if this were episode #11 PR #15, it was a good episode. Pure filler, mostly, but a well written, funny, cutesy episode. Totally enjoyable. Some of the stuff with Oliver and Vandervoort were not only unnecessary, but downright bad, stupid and implausible (The two bows mentioned already.) but the Lois and Clark stuff? Great. I enjoyed Toy Man making a comeback, the actor is as creepy as it gets.
But this was the episode leading into the finale. They resolved jack shit. Supposedly the finale is going to be standalone mostly... So what, we resolve Darkseid in the first five minutes? I hope to god gold K doesn't play a part, but you know it will. Lois not marrying Clark? Lame. They already pissed continuity out the window, it's a good story and a happy ending, go for it. My worst fear is Lex will return for all of a thirty second cameo. The entire episode needs to be the penultimate Lex versus Clark to set up for the future or Superman versus Lex Luthpr. If it's some dumb ass cameo, or they focus on Darkseid too much, or use gold K, or resolve Darkseid too fast... Yeah, I contradicted myself there, didn't I? It'll suck if they focus on Darkseid too much, or wrap it up too fast. Why's that? Because it should have been fucking wrapped up before the finale. I guess my only hope now is it truly is a two hour finale. One hour devoted to Darkseid and finishing that shit up, then the last hour what we were promised... A standalone finale, no holds barred, Lex Luthor versus Clark Kent.
Next week has the makings to be epic, and a fitting end to what, by and large, has been an enjoyable series the past decade. It could be majestic with Rosenbaum coming back. They could also screw it up beyond belief... God, please let them do this right.

I'm not as negative as you are because you've made it clear for probably 2 seasons now that your sick of watching the show and just want it to end. Despite a few bad episodes in their tenure, I'm confidant Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders will give us a satisfying conclusion next week. They have done a great job since taking over in season 8.Right?!
A whole hell of a lot happened... much more than I expected. Nice exit for Kara and nice return of Stargirl, but there were several "huh?" moments which I WISH the writers had been peppering throughout the season and not in the penultimate moment.
DJariya, I love that you call me on my gripes! I'd LOVE to admit you were right this time next week!!!! I'm always a "glass half empty" guy when it comes to shows I've been (pretty religiously) following THIS LONG. I'll always prefer to be pleasantly surprised than sorely disappointed!

I wish they'd spent more time doing episodes that wrapped up the show this season than the time they wasted on the Superhero Registration silliness. What did that accomplish? Certainly did not help in making Darkseid a more formidable villain to Clark.

Also, did Chloe and Olver get married? I vaguely remember this but I'm not sure. I just know they moved away together. It's hard to follow all the storylines they throw into this show.

I saw this episode last night and I was entertained by it. But, I get some of your frustrations for this being the next to last episode before the finale, that it seemed like a wasted hour on mostly filler.
I wasn't sure what was the point of bringing back Kara. She only interacted with Oliver and then Jor-El told her she didn't belong in this Universe and needs to find her own destiny, so she puts on the Legion ring and disappears. Okay?
Not the cleanest way to write her out.
As for the Lana Lang reference, Toyman referenced the tragedy of Lana Lang, I assume he was referencing the fact that she was infected with Kryptonite a few seasons ago and is permanently separated from Clark.
Not worried at all about Lois and Clark, they will get back together. Trust me.

It was from that Hangover episode this season. Inititally Clark and Chloe thought they married each other, but in fact she married Oliver. They stayed married and both of them moved to Star City.

I don't think the Darkseid arc worked either. I think what made season 10 not be a total disappointment was the self contained episodes. "Homecoming" was probably the best episode this season. I also enjoyed "Kent" and "Luthor" along with the proposal episode.

Toyman made a comment about Lana trying to protect Clark and that she wasn't bulletproof. It's implied that the Legion of Doom (or Toyman himself) offed Lana Lang.

I didn't really catch that implication. For me, it seemed he was making a point about how Lana tried to protect Clark and now they aren't together anymore, so how would Lois think it could turn out any different between herself and Clark.

Plus they didn't show it.

Gotta love Jor El's idiotic speech to Kara that somehow convinced her to leave for the future. How is it a bad thing that Kara got Clark to go after Darkseid? How could it have ever been his destiny to fight someone he would never have known existed if not for his cousin? Why did Jor El even send Kara after Darkseid if he never wanted to do anything about it?
I swear it's as if the writers have the same attention span as the season 2 showrunner of Human Target.

What an awesome insult...but well deserved lol
Lois decides to become a slave to Toyman instead of speeding away to Clark??? What brilliant writing.

Expected an epic episode
Was nice to see Kara but I was done with her--why spend the time? Why show new villains other than to entertain your costume department?
All signs point to a hasty and unsatisfying tie-up of everything this week.

Great lil' promo.
I bet it's better than the actual finale.

I love how people are coming at this finale the exact opposite of the Lost finale. People expected the world with the Lost finale, and Smallville fans have such low expectations they are just hoping they don't totally fuck it up.

Maybe thats the reason behind the recent craptacular episodes...Hmmmm..
