FYI
2 hour show tonight because of the elections yesterday. It's the Live playoffs.
You may have a DVR conflict if you also watch Survivor and The X-Factor. All 3 are airing in the same timeslot tonight.

Cassidy is good. Adam, Christina and Blake all turned around within seconds of one another. She's not my favorite but she isn't horrible.

Re: The Voice -- Season 3 -- The Knockout Rounds/Live Shows
I'm not going to start a new thread for this show as it doesn't get much traction here, but I came across Christina Aguilera doing a performance (of "Your Body") on Jimmy Fallon I thought I'd share.

I love acapella, unplugged, etc. type singing, so this worked for me.

I just got caught up to this week's shows. I went through all 5 hours of shows from last week (both 2 hour live playoffs and the 1 hour results). I can understand that it's really hard to keep up with 2 music performance shows in 1 season.
I absolutely love Trevan. He's amazing. Hopefully he sticks around until the end.

I knew Mikayla was in trouble when she drew the first spot for Monday's performance show. The other girl booted was forgettable vocally.
Terry's hit-or-miss for me, he didn't really have the chops to do justice to "Don't Stop Believin'" and clunked his way through the song, but he was pretty good on the Boston song "More Than A Feeling".
Dez is a pretty boy with an okay voice.
Trevin tends to over-sing a bit, but he can belt.
Amanda is a little shrill for me, but with the right songs, she can light it up.
Cassadee has a bit of that weird nasal-yodel sound to her voice, but she's easy on the eyes.
Brian is middle-of-the-road okay, but sometimes he gives off a tortured soul vibe.
Nicholas is the male oddball of the finalists, old-school hippie, but an okay singer for bluesy material. Can he sing without holding his left hand palm next to his face?
Melanie is "unique" in that she has a limited vocal range and has to push through with her signature hushed tone.
The girl who sang the Celine song is "meh" for me. A belter without much personality.
Cody is like a male KD Lang, can sing, but he gives off that Kurt (Glee) vibe when he sings. Seems too over-confident in his segments.

Sad to see Mikayla go. I thought she had what it takes to win this thng but I did miss Monday night's performance. Was it really that bad?
Overall, other than Trevin, this is a pretty boring group.

Re: The Voice -- Season 3 -- The Knockout Rounds/Live Shows
I don't much care for Trevin. I find his upper register vocals to be absolutely grating and unpleasant. Also, an 18 year old kid simply shouldn't be allowed to sing When A Man Loves a Woman. No no no a thousand times no.
I really dig Nicholas. So smooth, so pleasant. I wish that he would've performed the version of Power of Love that we got hear him play for Cee Lo as opposed to the boring pop sanitized version that Cee Lo wanted him to perform.
Terry needs to do something produced after 1985. Give him some Radiohead or Death Cab or something.
Brian bores me to tears.
I am not in Dez's demographic. I couldn't care less about the kid. Average vocals without anything special about his timbre, but he sure is pretty I guess.
I'm irritated that Cassadee is most likely getting through on her 200k twitter followers (10x her closest competitor). She has a moderately successful career with Hey Monday and her boyfriend is also in a moderately successful band. She has a built-in fan base that none of the other contestants have.
Amanda needs to be a bit more careful in her song selection. I can only describe her last choice as indulgent.
I loved Melanie's blind audition, but she hasn't done anything for me since then.
Sylvia Yacoub has slowly grown on me.
Cody has a really pleasant personality, but he doesn't sing the kind of music I enjoy.
I supposed it boils down to me really liking Nicholas, enjoying Terry and Amanda, disliking Brian and Trevin, and mostly ambivalent about everyone else.

No idea how well she performed, because the sound people had the volumes so screwed up you could barely hear her over the backing vocals and the band.

Re: The Voice -- Season 3 -- The Knockout Rounds/Live Shows
Poor Nicholas is forced to do all this weird stuff that doesn't seem like his style at all, but Cee Lo has always been the worst coach in terms of picking material for his artists. Nicholas does his best with what he's given, but Barry White and Huey Lewis? Not to mention the cheesy "Staying Alive" group number.
Bummed that Mikayla got the boot so early. I'm sure Cassadee and Melanie syphoned some potential votes from her but I thought she was the best of that bunch.
Brian just bores me to no end, which probably means he'll win the whole thing.

Just got caught up with the show this week.
Really surprised that Team X-Tina was wiped out. She had some of the hottest girls on her team who could sing really well like Devyn and Adriana.
Out of the remaining contestants left, I think Cassadee Pope is the clear front runner.
I also like Trevin and Nicholas from Team Cee-Lo. Although Trevin seems stuck on doing ballads. He tried that dance song 2 weeks ago and I thought it was just okay.

I'm calling Christina out right now as being a jealous bitch. For whatever reason she can't seem to give Amanda Brown an ounce of respect for her talent, it's obvious and I think her bitchiness is what costs her every year with her team. She did her fake "cough" with Bryan Keith and she just fake "coughed" again as Adam was praising Amanda. Bitch. Glad she will be gone next year.

Christina's absolute rudeness to 17-year-old Melanie is just unreal. I'm glad Christina is leaving the show. What a complete bitch. And to quote some anonymous tweet that my wife just read to me: "It's ridiculous for people to harp on Christina's weight when there are so many other awful things about her that you can pluck."

I'm glad people are keeping Melanie around. I don't think she'll win but she's my favorite just because she's different from everyone else. Edit: I take that back, I actually like Nicholas the best. His voice is f'ing butter. Cassadee will probably win if you just go by who's highest ranked on iTunes after every show.

Last week, CA complimented the set Melanie played on, which is about as passive-aggressive as you can get.
Why is she still even on? All of her performers got kicked off. She's pretty much dead weight now.

Cassadee Pope and Amanda Brown butchered "Breakaway." Both are good singers, but they sure missed the mark with that performance.

Re: The Voice -- Season 3 -- The Knockout Rounds/Live Shows
Well that sucks. Trevin just made it safe. Already know Cassaddee Pope is going to be safe, so only 1 of Nicholas, Melanie, and Amanda are going to move on. Trevin was easily my least favorite contestant left. He has a great instrument, but needs a massive amount of work to get it under control, and his niche bores me to tears. If iTunes sales charts are any indication, it's going to probably mean Melanie and Amanda are going home.

Re: The Voice -- Season 3 -- The Knockout Rounds/Live Shows
Christina was really bad this week. Did anybody hear her say, "She's not even looking at me?" while she was talking about Melanie's performance?
A bit shocked Amanda went home, but I'm okay with it. I think she peaked with Dream On.
If Terri can stay consistent I think he can edge out Cassidie. I'd say Trevin, but he's become too over the top and can't reign it in when necessary. CeLon song choices aren't helping the guy either.

Cassadee's the front-runner, just based on her fan-following alone. Can't see Terry winning it all, but he may make it in the final two to give us an all-Team-Blake finale.
