Yeah, but the selections probably only take 2-5 days since everybody is centralized to LA. Then they break until tutoring and live shows for ~2 months. Probably much less time needed than filming of a traditional TV show.

Just saw the clip of Melanie Martinez - wow. Barely recognized "Toxic", in a good way. Funny, as she was singing, I instantly was thinking, "She sounds like Bjork!"

Some strong contenders from Tuesday's show and some who probably wouldn't have been picked if a coach waited to push their button further into a performance. Right now I think CeeLo has he weakest team.

Funny, I think he has the best one. Blake really needs to land some of these blue chippers and Adam, please shut up.

Just finished watching the 2 hour episode from Monday
Melanie Martinez was pretty good, but that gap between her teeth was distracting as hell.
at that guy Cupid. Sorry, and I have never heard that Cupid Shuffle song. So I'm out of the loop when they called it a craze.
The country girl Liz Davis is kind of hot and it made sense for her to choose Blake. Her vocals were decent.
Was not that impressed with the 17-year old Alessandra. She was alright, but you could tell she needs alot of work.
I dug that 16-year old kid Avery Wilson.

Renewed for 2 more cycles. Spring 2013, which was already expected and Fall 2013.

I personally think it is a mistake of NBC to run it back to back instead of once a year. Yes, NBC would like the ratings but I don't think it will continue to hold it as well. NBC is running this sometimes 3x a week. Overkill.

Any idea on the hint Christina dropped? Sounded like they will be able to swap, steal or pick up losers!

Yes, they can. That's already been reported in the press as a new wrinkle this season (before the show even started airing).

Has anybody been experiencing issues with sound during the broadcasts? I frequently feel like I hear popping or scratching. And then occasionally sound drops and you hear an auditorium sound, as of a tv filter is being dropped. Watching via FIOS HD.

I just heard Christina say to one of her singers to not try and oversing the song. Seriously, that's all Xtina does!

The funny thing is that Melanie Martinez is who I enjoy listening to the most, but Avery Wilson just screams super star. The kid even has awesome dance moves.

The Voice -- Season 3 -- The Knockout Rounds/Live Shows

THE COMPETITION HEATS UP AS 'THE VOICE' KNOCKOUT ROUNDS BEGIN - The "knockout rounds" begin with coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Blake Shelton's 10 strongest team members remaining from the battle rounds. In this new phase of the competition the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other, but this time they find out only minutes before performing who they are up against. The artists each select their own song to perform individually, while their direct competitor watches and waits. Their coach will choose the winner and they will proceed to the live shows. Carson Daly ("Last Call with Carson Daly") hosts. Christina Milian ("Be Cool") serves as Social Media Correspondent.

Well there goes my pick to win the whole thing. Can't believe they dismissed Avery so easily. His performance was underwhelming, but this kid has amazing talent.

Also HATED that Cee Lo picked Diego over Caitlin- as Adam said to him, don't understand that pick at all.
Because they keep pairing some of the best, they are not going to wind up with the best singers in the live shows.

Yeah, the Avery performance was crap. Terrible song choice and a poor performance and he's out.
Diego and Caitlin are my least favorite contestants on the show and I wish both would've gone home. Caitlin is a dime-a-dozen freshman musical performance major from when I was at college. Diego's fashion sense is criminal.

Terry McDermott was awesome. My favorite performance of the entire knockout rounds. Just amazing. He's a man out of his time, but I'm pulling for him now.

I agree about Terry McDermott. He was just amazing. Pulling for him too. Don't understand Blake's last two picks. Diego? and the girl that sung Pay Phone over Suzanne? Those make no sense at all.

Re: The Voice -- Season 3 -- The Knockout Rounds/Live Shows
That was BS! But Suzanne sank her chances by choosing to sing a Bob Marley song without any soaring notes to "blow" away the coaches. WTF? Payphone girl just has a yodel-ly voice that's a bit on the thin side, but she's pretty.
Terry McDermott has some serious vocal firepower.
Also can't believe Blake kept Julio. He just doesn't know what to do with female singers who have wide vocal range.
