Can everyone stop making fun of federal agents and just talk about the game?

Nope it wasn't me. You told someone else that if he/she believes in God, which is foolish and silly, that he/she should probably avoid reading this thread.

If you meant that you're silly and foolish to think that God would rig Survivor for you, then yes, I agree with you. Like God is going to help Matt win Survivor because he prays and preaches. What about everyone else there who believes? They're all screwed because they're not as open about it as he is?

We (me, everyone) pretty much makes fun of anyone and their beliefs. Why should being a believer make you off limits?

And by the way, in other threads, whenever something happens that is not to SOME believers likings (like gays kissing) they get bashed over and over again. Just saying....

It seems Matt's beliefs are making him do stupid and foolish things, so YEAH religion is fair game in this discussion.

And he even names the new tribe with some bullshit word and people all nod their head immediately in agreement.
The amount of control Rob is able to exert in this game genuinely fascinates me. The episodes we get are forty-five minutes edited down from three days of interaction, so I don't think we can get a real sense of what really goes on in the game between the players.

Go back to the first All-Stars, and he had full control of his tribe at all times. After the merge, at least he or Amber was vulnerable at every tribal council, but nobody would move against either one. There was even a pretty well-established pecking order post-merge, but nobody dared to make a move against the King or Queen, and seemed content to just let themselves get picked off one by one.

The only move against Rob was when Amber won the final vote. Which was basically a victory for Rob anyway.

I just think Rob has evolved with the game. Historically, he's always been pretty good around camp and is decent at challenges. However, having played the game 3 time already, I think this season is the perfect storm for him.

Tyson was on Rob C's podcast the other day and said that he is amazed that BRob is doing all of the things that the former Survivors when looking back, wished that they had done.

Take for example, the randomness in the game that seems to bite alot of the players in the ass. Well, IMHO, Rob has done a perfect of job eliminating the random elements in this game so far. He grabbed the HII early and didn't tell anyone about it so there's no possibility that it could have been used against him pre-merge. He got rid of Matt TWICE because Matt could never make up his mind about what he wanted to do. Even Phillip, who is perceived as a wild card, seems to be firmly in Rob's camp because Rob appears to include in him in the decisions and treat him as a beloved member of the family.

Re: Survivor: Redemption Island -- April 6th, 2011

At all the religion talk. That train is never late in DVDtalk threads.

Like his religion talk or not, Matt isn't a good player at this game. He's too open. He had a great chance to get in good with Rob (and therefore all of Rob's lackeys) by telling him that they offered him the immunity idol and that Mike will most likely use it himself. Then he goes on to tell Rob his entire plan and shows that he could flip at any time. I think it was the right move for Ometepe. Get rid of the wild card right away and now you're free to peg off the other tribe.

Smart move for the former Ometepe tribe would be to peg off Mike and David then blindside Rob. But I get the feeling that these guys are in such awe of the guy that they'll be willing to wait until all of the old Zapetera is gone and then Rob will use his HII. Either way, it goes, I just don't see Rob winning this game although he's the only one that deserves to win. Sure he's had the unfair advantage of being a pro but he's had everyone wrapped around his finger since day 1.

Smart move by Andrea too. She probably realized that she would be the bottom rung if she jumped ship to the other alliance. This way she proves her
loyalty to Rob and you know that if it gets down to the 6 they have Rob will start itching to get rid of Grant. Once that happens the girls would be smart to do a girls alliance. Too bad they're all too stupid to pull that off. If they were half way smart I could see an Andrea, Natalie and Ashley final 3.

But really, at this point, I don't think anyone is really that smart except for Rob. I just feel that Rob would be able to tell when his tribe was trying to oust him and the only time it will work is when he's just completely out of options.

One of the best Survivor moments of every season is when someone plays the HII at the complete wrong time. You can't really blame them for their thinking that was the right move though. Still, it's funny to see, especially when a guy like Ralph is involved.

4 players(Rob,Steph,Bobby Jon,Russell) have gotten a golden goose situation of playing the game against an entire cast of first timers. So far Russell is the only one who has not turned it into at least a jury spot.

Its a little silly to bring someone back a 4th time especially since the majority of the cast has probably never even watched 4 seasons .

For all the praise of this dudes game he was voted out 2 times before the jury stage in his 3 previous seasons.

Based on what?

You take away the confessionals of the previous boots pretty much then 80% of the confessionals are of Rob telling everyone how smart and in control he is or Phillips being hilarious.

The minute anyone in his tribe finds out he hid an idol from them he is screwed.

You may feel free to do so. But really, I'm not sure it's your place to tell the rest of us how to discuss the show.

You're pretty much calling him an idiot because he believes in God and anyone else that believes in him too.
Sigh. Man alive, you don't listen. I'm not sure how many more times I need to repeat it. Belief in got isn't what makes Matt a fool. Belief that God is rigging Survivor in his favor is what makes him a fool. Really, I've clarified this point half a dozen times. At this juncture, you're either unwilling or unable to grasp the distinction.

So because I don't share your beliefs that religion is silly and foolish I'm suppose to not post in this thread. Because that's exactly what you're saying.
Oh. My. God. It's like talking to a wall. Clarifying things to you is almost pointless, as you choose to ignore anything but what you WANT your opponent to have said. Nowhere has ANYONE said that, or anything approaching that. You're the ONLY one here trying to tell people what they should and should not post. You can defend Matt until you're blue in the face, I don't care. I'm saying that you have no right to tell others how they should discuss the show.

Honestly, at this point I'm holding out little hope of you getting it. I fully expect your next post to announce that I told you that you had to leave the thread and that anyone who's not an atheist is a fool.

I'm not sure what this has to do anything. The post you quoted was referring to his game this season.

I reserve all my praying to asking for people to be kicked off reality shows who think they are there or "winning" via divine intervention or faith.

They've had a few and none of them ever did well.
