BTW, what was the deal with Troy's thing with LeVar? I vaguely remember him saying that he only wanted a picture because it wouldn't disappoint him.

He simply did not want to meet his hero, because it's always a disappointment.

He was star-struck. Sure it was over-the-top, but isn't that the point?

Actually, that's reversed. He didn't want to disappoint his hero.

Was that what he said? Must have misheard during his freakout, my ears, they aren't as good as they used to be.

The "more fish for Kunta" line was just so perfect.

Oh, man, that was such a great throwaway line at the very end, too.

"Are these blood diamonds? *gasp* Are they Holocaust diamonds?"

Troy's reactions to LeVar were the highlight of the episode.

I laughed uncontrollably at Troy singing "Reading Rainbow" all huddled up in the bathroom ... and then weeping.

Except for Troy's breakdown I didn't laugh once. Worst ep. of the season - maybe the entire show.

I wonder what the fuck you guys were watching. Is it because I don't know Levar Burton?

I don't know how that's possible. But potentially.

I laughed a lot and my wife was damn near in hysterics - and started singing the Reading Rainbow theme about a 1/2 second before Troy did. She just knew it was coming.

I thought this episode handled the "darkness" of Pierce better than some others have. Really good moments between the cast, and for the first time I saw Joel McHale as not only a funny guy, but possibly a seriously good dramatic actor too. I could see him taking more of a Jon Hamm-direction with his movie career, another funny guy who is a heck of a serious actor.

This show is easily my favorite comedy on TV right now. I usually dont buy series on DVD but I'm going to buy this, because I think there are so many things I miss from just watching one time. This show is so smartly written, and I love Joel McHale in this. Love this show.

I thought this was a riot from start to finish. Troy definitely stole the episode, but everyone had some great lines. The writing was top notch and the acting was superb. I don't think I have enjoyed a sitcom this much in a very long time. Major props to all involved with this episode.

Re: Community -- "Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking" -- 2/17/11

Loved the Troy breakdown, it reminded me of Sally Kellerman in MASH the movie! ITA his bathroom stall scene did indeed look like "Stop" in The Wall.

The style of the camera on this episode lends a lot to the possibility of making the show more like Modern Family or The Office. I like the regular way though, so, just a thought.

I liked Britta's mention of "Rebop". REALLY left-field reference as I don't even remember that show, but according to your usual online sources, it did exist (Produced by WGBH Boston, home of ZOOM).

"More fish for Kunta" Good name for a band.

No way they switch to the mockumentary style of The Office or Modern Family; not even a possibility.

Loved the delivery of this line, followed by the weak thumbs up.
