In all fairness, I haven't seen them. It just might not be my type of humor. I am more of a Drawn Together, Robot Chicken, old Simpsons, Family Guy person.

I love both those shows - just didn't think this episode brought the funny much. I like the voice work, animation and general tone of the show, though, so I'll stick with it.

Not perfect but I liked it I'll give it a few more episodes. I was a huge Dr. Katz fan so maybe that's why I liked it.

Big Home Movies fan. I liked it quite a bit. It's a pilot, so it will find its way. Love H. Jon Benjamin and have been waiting for Kristen Schaal to be in something funny. I like her, but can't stand her stand up.

Bob's Burgers -- "Crawl Space" -- 1/16/11
Shot at 2011-01-09
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Episode 2 of 13
I'm not expecting episode 2 or future episodes to get anywhere near the same amount of feedback as the premiere.

I feel about tonight's episode the way I felt about last week's episode: Bob, Gene, and Louise are all great; Tina and Linda are hit or miss, with mostly misses. The writers seem to be spreading screen time equally amongst all the characters that aren't Bob, but I really wish they'd focus more on Gene and Louise since they consistently deliver without being annoying or overly gross.
Louise is definitely the best character though. The writing for her is absolutely superb. She's such an instigator and Kristen Schaal does a great job with the character.
The Shining spoof didn't really work for me. It's something we've seen spoofed so many times that it just felt sort of tired. I did like the angle of pretending to get stuck in the wall to avoid your inlaws angle though.
"What's that Nagatha Christie?"
"Are you the ghost from Ghost?"
"Are you the ghost from Ghost Dad?"
I definitely think the show is still finding its footing though. I think if they'd tone down some of the gross out gags and more on the family dysfunction and failing business it would be a better show. Will be interesting to see how this one did ratings wise.

This show doesn't have the laugh out loud funny bits that other shows have, but there's something about it I find amusing. It definitely would fit better on Adult Swim than it does with the Fox comedies.

This was a vast improvement over the first episode. Still unsure about it but this episode was good enough for me to watch next week.

I love the humor, although I hate people - notably the line from the grandmother - who think that people that don't have children are in some way inferior - my personal retort - "fuck you"

Much better than last week. I loved the Shining spoof. The older daughter is a little too weird to me, but everything else was funny this ep.

I don't think the point was that people without children are inferior, but that those without children might not always be in the best position to offer advice or make decisions about how others raise their own children. Sure, that isn't always true, but a lot of times people might criticize someone's parenting skills without having ever been in the same situation themselves. I mean, this guy was just itching to get the kids taken away from their parents and yet he himself ignored common sense (a guy taking children without their parent's position) and neglected basic safety (not having the kids buckle their seatbelts).

That wasn't the message. People without kids clearly can't tell when other kids are in need of intervention from social groups. That's the message of the episode!
I don't know...this isn't as good as Mission Hill or Oblongs or some other non Simpsons/McFarlane animated shows, but I am just glad Fox is airing it instead of just surrendering another half hour to McFarlane.

It's nice too that they gave it the timeslot in between The Simpsons and Family Guy. If they had put it at 7:30 the show would stand even less of a chance, whereas American Dad! will probably be fine there since it's been on for so long.

I tuned into this due to the voice work of H. John Benjamin, as I am a huge fan of "Archer".
I am really enjoying the characters of Bob and Louise. Both were hilarious throughout the ep, as they were in the first.

Much better than last week and some creative moments. I'll probably keep watching but I can't see it growing into something I love.

Agreed that this was better than the pilot. I'll likely continue watching because it is sandwiched between The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Opposite from many people here, I liked the pilot more than the 2nd episode. Could just be my mood while I watched it, though.
I feel like they need an infusion of something to make it more interesting; if it's all going to take place at their home/burger joint, they need more interesting characters. The grandma & grandpa were totally generic, except for the Maxim magazine part.
