My favorite Gene moment was "You're a very good dad. I'm having a great childhood. Not this very moment, but overall"

Just saw the Halloween ep, really good episode and really sweet. The filler at the end was a bit odd but amusing enough

Season 7 now, already renewed for Season 8. It's my favorite of the Fox shows, live action or animated.

Same for me, and my kids love it. My 4-year-old wants to be Louise for Halloween.

Didn't care for the mix of animation styles. Really distracted from the story, and I would have loved to see some of the scenes done with the standard artwork. Particularly Bob talking to the eggs, and Teddy passed out on mimosas.

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

Hope we have more than one post about the entire season. And not just by me.

I really enjoyed the season premiere. It doesn't produce the belly laughs of classic Simpsons or even Family Guy, but I have a good time with every episode.

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

The different songs for each of Tina's boy-crush encounters was absolute genius. Each one was totally produced in "boy band" styles. Hilarious. And the baby rat story? Gene can basically make anything comedy gold with his one liners. I always find myself laughing out loud several times each episode.

Yeah, I like Bob's Burgers for the chuckles and the fact it's a family I enjoy spending time with. That used to be The Simpsons, but the Belchers solidly took over a long time ago.

I can't believe I've never commented in here. Part of that is later in the season I usually don't get to watch it until a few days after it aired.

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

I like all the Belcher kids. I also like a lot of their friends, especially Zeke.

ETA: One of the things that makes Bob's Burgers so enjoyable is the way a mundane event can be made so funny. For example, eating oatmeal.
Louise adds 16 spoons of sugar to hers, and you have to love this exchange:

Gene: I put bacon in mine!
Bob: Gene, don't. Wait....how is it?

Everything out of Gene's mouth is hilarious, and pretty much everything Linda says makes me laugh.

And then it's Bob's, mostly straight-man, reaction to everyone around him that ties it all together.

Wanted to make sure we keep talking about this show this season. Second ep wasn't as good as the first, but I really love anything with all the Wagstaff kids. Especially Zeke. That kid cracks me up. And now we know one of Andy and Ollie (I forget which one) is actually dangerous.

I thought this one was better than the first. It got everyone more involved, and I didn’t see the twist coming with Mr. Fischoder.

Hit em before they know what hit em.
Gene: Like a bris

He had another line, something like 'that's what I call my testicles', but I forget what he was replying to.

Damn, I can't remember that Gene line either! I also laughed a lot at the bris one though.

The only reason I preferred last week's was that I felt Bob was underused. In the end, he's still my favorite character. He doesn't have to have the main plot , but he does need some lines (like in the Boyz 4 Now ep)

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

My favorite episode of the new season so far. Had all my favorite supporting characters; Teddy, Zeke, Tammy, and Regular-sized Rudy. Only thing missing was Andy and Ollie, but I'll live. Good balance between the kids' story and Bob's. That's what an episode of Bob's Burgers should be.

Thanks for posting that. Haven't watched The Simpsons much in years, but I see the closing credits as I'm starting Bob's on my DVR. Saw H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Eugene Mirman, Dan Mintz, and Kristen Schaal in the Simpsons' credits and knew I missed something.

Playing catch up on the recent episodes and it still manages to catch me off guard in random ways. (Nsfw?)

^ I liked that episode too. It was a bit daring making Edith a central character, but it worked. I both laughed and winced at her line "I'm taking off my seatbelt! It's chafing my honkers."

Great Halloween episode, with many references to A Nightmare on Elm Street. And not just the easy ones. Plus, they found Fiona Apple for the closing credits song.
