I gotta agree with Lemmy. Many of you obviously don't like zombie flicks. Why are you watching a zombie show? Or better yet, why are you expecting it to NOT be like a zombie flick?

I'd rank the originals higher had I not gotten spoiled by modern special effects.

Having watched literally every zombie movie ever made but never reading the comics, I find the potential for unpredictability intense. Even if an episode ends in a predictable manner there's enough uncertainty as an episode unfolds that the predictable isn't so predictable. (if that makes any sense)

I'm finding the series extremely entertaining. I feel sorry for those who, for whatever reason, don't.

I agree with Dennis Hopper's character in LAND OF THE DEAD when he said, "Zombies, man. They creep me out." ...and I love it. :)

In the beginning, when the two girls are on the quarry, was some of the worst writing I've ever heard/seen. "Dry lures" and "wet lures?" Stillfishing with flyrods?
Drag noise when one of the girls has a "bite?"

I'm also not getting why some keep coming into the thread just to say it's a horrible show with horrible writing. I figure they would stop watching the show if they find it that bad and there'd be no need to post in these threads.

I'm finding problems in the writing myself, but I'm still enjoying the show

I find it frustrating that the writers/director (in many shows) would get sloppy in some instances where it's easy enough to avoid the sloppiness.

I agree about the other way down from the roof coming out of nowhere was dumb. As well as Ed sitting there for 5 seconds waiting to be eaten (sorry, I don't buy shock as an excuse). And the guy realizing why he dug the holes in the first place - wasn't it kind of obvious to anyone what he was doing right from the start?

Like I said - still enjoying the show.

If you back through my posts in the threads for this show I doubt you'll find another complaint from me. I am absolutely loving the show.

It wasn't even so much that no one shot her right away as the fact the sister just kept leaning over her. I don't think it's been established yet how long it takes the body to become re-animated, but I sure as hell wouldn't lean over one, sister or not. :lol:

As I mentioned before, while the writing is cringe-inducing at time, the show is still about zombies and is thus still entertaining as hell. (Guessing the other critics in this thread feel the same, and thus keep posting their thoughts on this flawed, fun show.)

Sorry, I didn't mean you personally. I guess all the griping is these threads is making me a bit grumpy.

To be honest though, Unless they've already faced it, I don't think anyone really knows how they'd react in any sort of life or death situation. Much less a zombie attack.

You obviously didn't read what I wrote, or you just didn't understand my point. I criticized people for continuing to post in a thread of a show they find horrible. Basically, if you hate the show - then stay away... it makes no sense to post as it's thread-crapping. There's nothing wrong with criticizing aspects of the show even if you're enjoying it. It's done in the Dexter show thread as well as others.

I enjoy this show and will post issues I have with it (as well as things I enjoy) - and I look forward to reading criticizm's other have with the show, as long as it's not thread-crapping. Pretty simple.

Yea, I loved the whole bad ass show from the gang leader that turned out to be a janitor and they were protecting an old folks home. That was not expected at all. As for me I am loving the show and I find it funny that people turn into a zombie show expecting "The Shawshank Redemption", I mean its a Zombie show it will never get a lot of mainstream respect for that very fact. But I find it to be well written and fits well with AMC.

My only dissapointment as I have said is that AMC only bought 6 episodes and the 2nd season will only be 13. Damned networks.

Most of the people who are criticizing it are not calling it a horrible show, and they (we) certainly don't "hate" it. Why do you have to make it so black and white?

I do admit that maybe I've been a bit unfair to the show, holding up against other AMC shows that have excellent characterizations and dialog (Mad Men, Breaking Bad), instead of holding it up to other zombie movies. But criticizing that one aspect of the show is by no means thread-crapping. I don't understand people being so overly defensive in this instance - it's kinda weird actually.
