Speculation on what's happening with Moriarty:

Spoiler:
At the end, Sherlock says that Moriarty is dead, but he also wonders what he'll do next. These seemingly contractors statements could be solved by...twins! Moriarty is dead, but his twin (with the same last name, so also "Moriarty") is alive.

Note that in the 1896 sequence Sherlock emphatically states "It's never twins", a possible hint for the 2016 story?
Whatever, the scene with Sherlock's eye closeup gave it all away. I guess they could've made it more obvious by having a pop up bubble with "Sherlock's high, bitches!" displayed on the screen.

Just a suggestion: if you're not replying to the most recent post, try using that 'quote' button which will identify the post that you are responding to. Kind of like what I'm doing right now...I find it reduces misunderstandings a millionfold.

But again, just a suggestion.

There were a few posts about people (and links to articles written by, apparently, numbskulls) being surprised that it was a dream. I'm not quoting them all.

Just a suggestion: If you're not being quoted, then you can presume the post may not be specific to you.

And its unusual in that (like a lot of British shows) they show up when you would never program a new episode of a popular American drama, -New Year's Day (or in the case of "Doctor Who", Christmas Day).

Re: Sherlock (BBC/PBS) Series Thread

Solid opener. Massive impact on the series and characters. Will be curious to see how this all works out.

Spoiler:
I part expect !ary to still be alive, but it would almost be too cliche for this show to pull that as a ruse.

I do think being away so long hurt this episode a bit, because I completely forgot about Mary's backstory.

FWIW, Amanda Abbington and Martin Freeman are getting a divorce in real life.

I hope Mary stays gone, by far the worst part of the show. The show started going downhill as soon as her backstory started getting told.

According to Moffat,
Spoiler:
she's dead, dead, dead
. He always intended to get back to Holmes and Watson, and felt it was best handled in the first episode, though obviously, the ripples will be felt.

No comments on the second episode....maybe everyone's waiting for video?

Decent episode but felt like it existed more to be a transition between the opener and the finale.

Re: Sherlock (BBC/PBS) Series Thread

I like the villain in the 2nd episode but i'm still lost in the whole "who set up who". was it sherlock or was it the other Holmes that set him up which resulted in setting Watson up?

Re: Sherlock (BBC/PBS) Series Thread

Well it's over. Each episode this season seemed to do a fantastic job of combining things I love and hate about the show. I think the creators are too clever by half. If this is the last episode I still will really miss the show.

Re: Sherlock (BBC/PBS) Series Thread

I really enjoyed all 3 episodes this season and would love more if possible. Doubtful considering what is involved with getting the cast back and it had its lowest ratings ever this year so it may not be worth it. Too bad as I think BC and MF are perfectly cast and have great chemistry and I love the directorial choices the show makes with onscreen visualizations and stuff.
