The Apprentice (Original version) -- Season 10 Thread -- Premieres 09/16/10

By djariya at 2010-09-16
This is the 1st original edition of The Apprentice since Los Angeles back in 2007.
The celebrity version will return in March 2011.
Never watched the celebrity version except 1 episode which I hated. Looking forward to this one.
Summary for episode 1 (2 hours):
Season 10 kicks off with the arrival of 16 candidates, all impacted by the economic downturn and trying to revive their careers by winning employment with Donald Trump. The 13-week interview process opens with a test to create modern-day workspaces. Marring the challenge: a fight and an office accident.

Just an FYI for those who can't watch/DVR the premiere tonight
It re-airs Friday at 8pm on CNBC, Saturday at 12am on CNBC, and Saturday at 8pm on NBC.
I know the interest in this show isn't the same as in 2004 or 2005 when it 1st premiered, but most of you have to prefer this edition as opposed to the Celebrity edition right? At least these are people actually looking for jobs.

Ok, I had to laugh when all the white guys volunteered the black guy as Project Manager. It reminded me of South Park's "Operation Get Behind the Darkie".
Wrong? But funny.
I was glad the guy's team won for that reason. But why oh why does Trump insist on doing the lame "Men vs. Women" teams? Is there no other way to divide people up? I am so sick of how it always turns into gender stereotypes. Let's have men and women on teams working together, please. Like in the real world.
Glad this is not a Celebrity edition. I bailed last season. Who cares, it's not like the "celebrity" is actually getting a job. All it is, is an excuse to see them yell at each other.

I wonder how hard it was to find a half a dozen Omarosas.

I know most of you probably haven't watched it yet since it ran 2 hours, but great opening episode. Boy, I've actually missed this show. That 45+ minute board room was probably some of the most frustrating over the top drama queen shit I've ever seen on the show, but I loved it.

Yeah I don't like how Trump once again split the teams up into Men and Women. The show is 10 seasons old now, couldn't he think of anything better?
I'm glad that Team Octane won even though they were a train wreck mainly because of their drama queen David. I don't think me as a viewer needed to be re-inforced on his sob story by hearing make a phone call to the unemployment office to collect another check. I also thought Gene was a terrible Project Manager as he spent most of the task that was shown standing around thinking and not really delegating.
As for Team Fortitude....Mahsa is literally the 2nd coming of Omarosa.
Good God, that women was so over the top....Keep saying that everything was a fucking injustice. They made the right decision to get rid of Nicole as she totally contradicted herself to Trump and Don Jr about Tyanna and her value to the team.

Nicole might have saved herself by explaining that she thought Tyana was an MVP before they got the results, but once she learned that Donald had hated the furniture, she realized Tyana had led her down the wrong path. But the fact that she didn't do that maybe suggests that she deserved to be fired.
Like Ivanka said -- Mahsa's behavior was completely inappropriate and she deserved to be fired. Even when Tyana took her aside and said "Hey, you're pissing Trump off -- take it down a notch," when they went back into the boardroom, Mahsa immediately started ranting again. She should go (but I predict Trump will keep her around for two-thirds of the season because she makes for entertaining boardrooms).

And she is from Brooklyn, I gotta look her up.

Overnight Ratings for the premiere were....awful. I assume that alot of people didn't know it was coming back or chose to DVR it and watch it later since it ran 2 hours long. 4.67M viewers and 1.5 in the demos. I also think the stupid Celebrity format dilluted the image of the original format of the show.

I didn't even know this aired. Maybe I'll check it out. Honestly, the celebrity version was such a bad departure for me, I stopped watching and forgot this show was still on. Eh, I probably won't waste my time even though I think this is the way it should have stayed.

My biggest gripe with this show is that it is just way too loooong. Two hours is too much. 90 minutes would be stretching it. I was FF through almost half of the task to get into the boardroom action which didn't disappoint. Mahsa will not last. She's going to remind Trump of one of his ex-wives or she'll say something that is just so vicious or over the top that he'll have to fire her ass. Will be fun watching the train-wreck build up each week however.

Yes, 2 hours was just for the premiere. It's going to be 1 hour from now on since the NBC comedy lineup premieres next week.

they have been advertising the return for a long time now. It's just that the show is so overplayed. The non-celebrity version had very low ratings towards the end and was canceled and replaced with the celebrity version. It's not shocking that this version the ratings are to the floor.

Oh my God is David an asshole. His over exaggeration when speaking made me think he was slightly autistic. Looks like he's the PM next week.

I really think Nicole was fired because even though she is very pretty, her boobs were not big enough for Trump's tastes. If she were more busty, I'm sure Trump would have found a way to keep her and fired the designer chick.

Wasn't Nicole the only one who had a job too?? She didn't like running copies and gathering data for the real lawyers so she wants to quit? From my understanding, that's how a lot of young recently graduated law students start out. So quit the princess routine and starting copying!!
And for the record, the ONLY reason I think Trump thought about keeping Nicole was because she was affiliated with Miss America -- which he sponsors.

I thought it strange that David was extending his unemployment benefits, including answering "no" to the "have you found work" part, while he was being filmed participating in a network reality TV show...something they are paid a stipend to do.

It was two hours just for the premiere, it will be one hour the rest of the season. But yeah, the two-hour celebrity edition episodes are TEDIOUS.
