Re: What TV DEATH Affected you the Most ?
Just remembered Homicide LOTS when either Felton or Crosetti killed themselves. It wasn't so much their death it was Pembleton outside the police stationin uniform for the pass-by brought tears to my eyes.
It was more about the badge then as oppossed the person.
That is why that show is one of the greatest shows created.

Great series. I remember the second episode really well also because the tv death of Winnie's brother essentially got Kevin out of a beating by his father.
While 8 Simple Rules really wasn't appointment viewing for me, the first episode after John Ritter's death was hard to watch. This was probably because I had seen every episode of Three's Company in syndication a dozen times.

I did not know she was leaving the show-so it was a complete shock to me. My husband who doesn't watch the show normally, kept rewinding it over and over. I finally had to take the remote away from him.

Boy, you said it.
That image of just looking into the nursery window, with the new dad getting the bad news still haunts me to this day since ER Season 1.

Without a doubt.
Also Buffy's mom,Jenny Calendar and Tara from Buffy. Unlike Lost, who killed every character introduced in season 2 by the end of the season, Joss had every death on Buffy mean something -- or be a catalyst for a major story arc. This is one reason why Buffy will be among the best serialized shows ever.

Futurama
I refuse to watch this episode, as a matter of fact all of season 4 is a little to teary-eyed for me.
My favorite Family Guy character that got killed off:
I loved him and when he choked on that roll I almost died.

Re: What TV DEATH Affected you the Most ?
I'll note two, and I feel neither are spoilers because both in their own way should be well ingrained in the popular culture by now:
Bill McNeal, Newsradio -- Phil Hartman's death was stunning, and the off screen death/episode mourning the loss of his character by the rest of the staff was spot on perfect. The last season of Newsradio is well below the level of the other seasons, but it is underrated. Even if it had been flat out terrible, the renewal would have been worthwhile for the tribute to Hartman that episode served as.

When the episode taped and members were talking about how emotional it was one set (Dave and Maura bursting out in tears during takes) I knew it was gonna be a whopper. I watched the episode by myself and cried along with the cast. The weird thing is, there were some really funny and touching moments on that episode--Bill's rolodex of what he thought people looked like naked, Jimmy riding out on his desk, Matthew thinking it was all a trick.

The death of a clear view of the entire bottom of the screen.
