Re: What TV DEATH Affected you the Most ?

Just remembered Homicide LOTS when either Felton or Crosetti killed themselves. It wasn't so much their death it was Pembleton outside the police stationin uniform for the pass-by brought tears to my eyes.
It was more about the badge then as oppossed the person.
That is why that show is one of the greatest shows created.

Great series. I remember the second episode really well also because the tv death of Winnie's brother essentially got Kevin out of a beating by his father.

While 8 Simple Rules really wasn't appointment viewing for me, the first episode after John Ritter's death was hard to watch. This was probably because I had seen every episode of Three's Company in syndication a dozen times.

That was Crosetti. Clark Johnson was also terrific in that episode.

On The X-Files when...

Spoiler:

...The Syndicate was wiped out mid-Season 6. Because that's the "Shark Jump" moment when the series went downhill in a hurry. In a way, that's when the series itself died.

Great episode. On a related note, Felton wasn't a suicide.

He did go to jail for a long while, Bodie avoided it. Pretty much everyone ended up dead or in jail: Barksdale, Chris, Snoop.

True. But he did do time in jail. He was out nearly half an entire season.

That is mine also.
I did not know she was leaving the show-so it was a complete shock to me. My husband who doesn't watch the show normally, kept rewinding it over and over. I finally had to take the remote away from him.

That image of just looking into the nursery window, with the new dad getting the bad news still haunts me to this day since ER Season 1.

This is one reason why Buffy will be among the best serialized shows ever.

Futurama

Spoiler:
Seymour

I refuse to watch this episode, as a matter of fact all of season 4 is a little to teary-eyed for me.

My favorite Family Guy character that got killed off:

Spoiler:
Mr. Weed

I loved him and when he choked on that roll I almost died.

Granted, we only learn of his death through voiceover in the final minutes of the finale, but even though we never see his passing, he was such a rich and fleshed out character that I found it hard not to mourn him.

His death didn't affect me as much as:

Spoiler:
when Kevin's Math teacher died....

The last season of Newsradio is well below the level of the other seasons, but it is underrated. Even if it had been flat out terrible, the renewal would have been worthwhile for the tribute to Hartman that episode served as.
Ditto. I remember coming home from 7th grade one day and being extremely distraught to hear about his murder. I was active in the NewsRadio newsgroup at the time, and I could mourn with the group.

When the episode taped and members were talking about how emotional it was one set (Dave and Maura bursting out in tears during takes) I knew it was gonna be a whopper. I watched the episode by myself and cried along with the cast. The weird thing is, there were some really funny and touching moments on that episode--Bill's rolodex of what he thought people looked like naked, Jimmy riding out on his desk, Matthew thinking it was all a trick.

Florence Halop who I believed replaced Selma Diamond also passed away pretty quickly after starting the show in 85, which I haven't seen the episode since I was 10 but I remember being pretty moved by Richard Moll's performance in losing another good friend so quickly.

I always wondered if in the episode where Katey Sagal is reading the dad's(Ritter) last article about his children and being a dad to the 3 kids if she really had to act when she broke into tears. To me that would just be a very hard scene to do for all that was involved, because i know how moving it was to watch.
