(I learned that from (1) the poster of him in my bedroom, and (2) an old rerun of him hosting Saturday Night Live.)

Re: Great character wasted on a crappy show
The Batman was a fine addition to the Batman cartoon legacy and I loved it. It was a young Batman and the show had very interesting versions of characters in the Batman universe. In the last season they brought in the early stages of the The Justice League.
People get so hung up on BTAS and it's a shame. It was good but it certainly wasn't the only good Batman cartoon. Batman: Brave and the Bold is another example of a great Batman series.

I think you are in the minority of people who liked it. What pissed me most about The Batman is that the writers at JLU were told not to any more Batman characters besides Batman himself. So guys like Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl and everyone from Batman rogue's gallery was out of limits. Also, The Batman pushed JLU out of production since WB thought it was redundant to have two series with Batman at the same time.
Anyway, it was a good show.

I also liked The Batman. No, it wasn't a DCU show, which I desperately miss, but it was still a fun show.
And the Batman vs Dracula tv movie from the series was pretty badass.

Mr. James: "The original title of this book was 'Jimmy James, Capitalist Lion Tamer' but I see now that it's... 'Jimmy James, Macho Business Donkey Wrestler'... you know what it is... I had the book translated in to Japanese then back in again into English. Macho Business Donkey Wrestler... well there you go... it's got kind of a ring to it don't it? Anyway, I wanted to read from chapter three... which is the story of my first rise to financial prominence... I had a small house of brokerage on Wall Street... many days no business come to my hut... my hut... but Jimmy has fear? A thousand times no. I never doubted myself for a minute for I knew that my monkey strong bowels were girded with strength like the loins of a dragon ribboned with fat and the opulence of buffalo... dung. ...Glorious sunset of my heart was fading. Soon the super karate monkey death car would park in my space. But Jimmy has fancy plans... and pants to match. The monkey clown horrible karate round and yummy like cute small baby chick would beat the donkey."

I was going to post something snarky like "Why on earth would I watch a crappy show long enough to find out there was a good character on it?" but your response put me in my place before I could even start typing. Guilty.

Newsradio isn't anywhere near "crappy". One of the best sitcoms and eminently rewatchable.

Re: Great character wasted on a crappy show
completelyI had to post the dialogue from that scene ... since it went with the earlier poster's picture from the show ...
Plus, I think it's funny as hell!

(hijacking thread for a moment)
Wouldn't be complete without the Q&A from the scene:
Question: "Mr. James, what did you mean when you wrote bad clown making like super American car racers, I would make them sweat, War War?"
Mr. James: "Well, you know... it's LIKE when a clown is making like a car... racer... it's sorta... like... the FCC. The CLOWN... the clown is like the FCC... and I was opposed to the FCC at the time, right? So it was like I was declaring War. WARRRR!"
Question: "So then did the American yum yum clown monkey also represent the FCC?"
Mr. James: "Yeah, it did. Thanks a LOT!"
Question: "What did you mean when you said, "Feel my skills, donkey donkey donkey, donkey donkey?"
Mr. James: *Sigh*

Re: Great character wasted on a crappy show
this brings up something I've wondered for a while
are results like this, and some of the horrible boob jobs I've seen, the result of using a cheap plastic surgeon that doesn't know what they're doing?
these women need to sue for malpractice

Re: Great character wasted on a crappy show
I think the issue is more that people get fixated on a certain result (thick lips, for instance) and don't consider what it's going to do to the looks. Cox would look far less ridiculous if it didn't look like Jay Mohr had gone 6 rounds on her mouth.
