I saw the link before, but before that, I didn't really think that they were knocking boots. A couple of times things did come up to make it seem like they were, but I just didn't really think about it.

Elizabeth Rohm has started to wear way too much makeup lately as well. She is starting to look like a hooker. She is attractive anyway, but the makeup is starting to be way over the top.

I agree with the fact that she is wooden. She is just begging to be cast in a Shylaman movie, since that seems to be the type of acting that he likes...

And Lowell had the best skirts, IMO. Kincaid's were too long, while Lowell's were pretty short...

She actually changed her look recently, but you're right - she wears way too much makeup. I just don't think she has the right look to pull off looking attractive in the business attire that she has to wear.

And yes - Jamie has the best skirts since they were the shortest. Abbey (Angie) always wore the best tops - relatively tight.

Next week, L&O and ER are back to their normal day/time, apparently with new episodes. Don't know whether any moves are planned later.

On Elizabeth Rohm, early in the season, I thought she was terrible too. Maybe its a minority opinion, but I think she has gotten better in the latter part of the season. I'm not saying saying she is great, by any means, but maybe up from "terrible" to "not so bad" or even "ok."

Law and Order continuity.......

I saw the Futurama thread and it made me remember about a question I had about L&O.

Twice this season, Lenny has talked about his "daughters".

Call me crazy, but I thought he only had one daughter, who ended up
Spoiler:
getting killed by the drug dealer she was testifying against, although they never proved it.
. I don't ever remember there being two daughters, but then again, I only started watching the show when Benjamin Bratt started.

Red Dog 04-20-03 03:19 PM

I am a L&O junkie and I also don't remember him discussing having 2 daughters before. Of course, then again, there was a recent episode where it was revealed that McCoy had a daughter and I had no ideal about that; or that he was ever married to begin with.

Of course, we do know that Lenny has been married multiple times so it isn't a stretch that he has would have more than 1 daughter.

Deftones 04-20-03 05:52 PM

Yeah, Lenny always talks about being married at least twice. It certainly is possible that he had a daughter from each marriage, but it's weird that they would mess w/ continuity in a show that's always so spot on w/ the continuity from past seasons.

Law and Order 4/30

the dig at CSI was funny

DJLinus 04-30-03 10:02 PM

Damn - Robin Colcord has aged!

Buck Turgidson 04-30-03 11:22 PM

Those four words, dreaded by all who love the "L&O" franchise...

"Ripped From The Headlines." -ohbfrank-

movieking 05-01-03 06:54 AM

This was one of the worse L&O's in quite sometime I thought.

Yeah Lenny was on fire last night.

Again, a strong first half but a weak second half which has become commonplace for L&O over the last 2 seasons.

Dasm, THAT'S who it was. I was going crazy trying to place him: nope, not Mr. Wick from Drew Carey; nope, not Mr. Sheffield from The Nanny, etc.

BTW, did anyone else (especially in NYC) find it COMPLETELY unbelievable that he was making only 60K after 25 years? Did I miss something, or did I hear that correctly? I understand that went a lot to motive for accepting the condo, but given what teachers and administrators make in NYC, Westchester, and LI (especially given that Masters degree 'incentives'), it was completely incomprehensible to me.....

I meant to bring this up but forgot. That was completely ridiculous. For a school that charges 20K tuition for kindergarten and 26K after that, that salary seemed laughable. If he makes 60K, what do the teachers make? 40K?

Derrich 05-01-03 10:45 AM

Not only was his salary a huge misstep, there was no reason he needed to take the stand. From the looks of it, he was winning. The prosecution was focusing on admissions and not saying anything about the murder. He should've walked. And his 'confession' didn't really confess anything.

For all I know, he did get off, since I turned the channel after his breakdown on the stand.

Well, that one happens all the time. Defendants are inherently stupid sometimes, and feel that getting on the stand will help them (usually over their own lawyer's strong objection)

Can you explain that? I either missed it or didn't understand it (crying baby and I don't watch CSI). Thanks!

There were a couple of digs at CSIs. One in the opening scene and then another after the opening credits. In one of the scenes he said something like "those crime scene guys always think they are cops."

Jobronie 05-01-03 01:31 PM

Points of reference:

a union doorman in NYC starts at ~$43K
an RN at a decent NYC hospital starts at ~$45K (albeit, there supposedly is a nursing shortage in NYC right now)

No offense to doorman (woman?), but a college education gets only $2000/yr?

I was also shocked that the admissions officer only had a $60k salary. But I had to put it off as it must correspond with other elementary admissions salaries, as opposed to colleges, etc.

Jobronie 05-01-03 03:00 PM

And that $45K for a 22 Y/O just getting our of school with a degree that's a dime-a-dozen (don't anyone tell my wife I said that) is big money on the nursing scale.

I wasn't comparing the two, so much as two giving separate examples of NYC salaries.

All bets are off and logic flies out the window when you talk about ANYTHING in NYC.......

mikehunt 05-01-03 07:56 PM

yeah 60k at a private school sounds low, but I don't live in ny city
my aunt and uncle were public teachers (1st grade and high school history) in western ny state, much lower cost of living than NY city and were each making approximately 50k from what I gathered from family conversations when they retired after about 25 years

Law And Order 5/14/03

Interesting episode. I can totally see both sides of this issue and cant make a decision.

Also, that kid seemed alot like Haydn Christensen, just a little bit plumper. Was that him. There was a closeup of his angry face and it reminded me a lot of Attack of the Clones.

SPY

movieking 05-15-03 07:17 AM

I don't think that it was him.

It was an okay episode, but I am getting tired of the ripped from the headlines shows. Next week they have two of these type: one about a star dangling his baby over the side of a balconey (ala Michael Jackson) but this time dropping him/her, and the other ones is about a wife who runs over her husband.

It is a two hour season finale next week (two seperate shows), and this includes their 300th episode.

movieking 05-15-03 07:52 AM

And since when is McCoy a father? He mentioned it a couple of times last night, and I don't remember him ever mentioning it before. Who is the mother? Was he married in his before L&O life?
