Hurley: $135 grand right?
He says it as if he's picking up a check at a restaurant, not forking over $135,000!!

Sooooooo ... they could've compressed the last episode to about five minutes and just had it a flashback during the campfire scene.

Great episode.
For the very first time I can remember, the ENTIRE series felt important in this episode. It seemed like everything over the past six seasons really had an impact on what is happening, and the series feels more relevant and less 'make it up as we go.' And finally, some hard, believable, and important answers.
Bring on the finale.

Ok much better episode but then again Desmond was featured and episodes with him are always good. I'm feeling a bit better about the potential of the finale now. Still some stuff I think is lame though, Jack drinking magic water? I'm guessing that may be delved into further but if it's not I guess we'll just chalk it up to an overly strong Christian allegory going on with all of this Jacob stuff.

I groaned when I saw that ad where they want anyone on Verizon to send text messages to appear during the finale. I just can't wait to see "OMG I'll MISS U LOST!" scrolling across the screen.

In before the 300 posts back pedaling and calling Lost the best show ever because this episode ROCKED.
We're so fickle.

I had to watch this entire episode with freaking PA election results running on the bottom of the screen. Only 2% of the votes were being reported!

I thought it was clear it was caused by the unhinged donkey wheel. That is what was causing the island to move through time. The fact that they got caught in the 1970s was a way for them to show us more regarding the Dharma Initiative.

I swear if they're going to be putting messages on the screen I'm not going to be happy. Putting them on some nonsense computer screen I can see but if they're running them across the bottom of the screen...

There were two things I didn;t like in this episode, but the rest was awesome.
1.) Didn't like Ben giving backstory on how he was able to summon the monster.
2.) Didn't like Widmore's "Jacob visited me off-island" scene.
These seem like fairly important off-camera events, specifically younger Ben conversing with the MiB in some form.

I think he knew Widmore would spill the beans, and gave Miles a Walkie Talkie. During the secret room scene, Ben was holding the Walkie Talkie for Miles to hear and relay "the plan" to the remaining Losties.

Would ABC really dilute the culmination of 6 years of a very popular show with text messages? How do I contact those SNL Betty White people on Facebook to start up another campaign?

Yep, Ben is awesome. I've said since LA X that if I had trust in one character to manipulate the MiB it would be Ben. 'Villian' Ben is awesome!

Good to see Jack drinking the magical water that Jacob created with some mumbo jumbo chanting. Also, brilliant line by Ben about how he thought he was summoning the monster when it was actually the monster summoning him. Yeah, that makes things much easier to buy and doesn't reek of a half-assed attempt at explaining a nonsensical element from seasons past.
