"V" renewed for 2nd season

Since this was a "bubble" show like Chuck, I thought I would do a thread for this as well since most will ignore the episode thread now.

After solid ratings gains this week (14% in the adults 18-49 demo), V is being renewed for next season. Lizards rule!

Prospects are grim for freshmen FlashForward and Romantically Challenged and veteran Scrubs but a rep for ABC said the network has not made any cancellation decisions yet.

W00t. I've really been enjoying the series and I'm glad ABC is at least giving the show a fighting chance - and hopefully the writers enough time to make sure that it doesn't end on an ambiguous note.

But this sounds about right. The original V was 4+6+19 = 29 hours of television so a 26-episode series doesn't seem that off the mark.

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

I was very close to giving up on this show, and wasn't sure if I was going to bother with the last episode until I found out if there was going to be a 2nd season...guess I can go ahead and keep watching now.

With Rosenbaum as a showrunner for all 13 episodes next season and a full summer for him to work with the writers of this show, I think season 2 can only get better.

Yeah, in hindsight the long layoff after the first 4 episodes probably worked in V's favor. The show was weak at the start but has improved and is gaining momentum at just the right time.

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

I am absolutely shocked. I really enjoy the show, but didn't think it would get a second season. Look forward to it being even better during the second season.

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

Most speculation (that I read) pitted the survival of V against Flash Forward and that V would ultimately win.

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

I'm fairly happy about this, are they remaining on the same timeslot?

It's good to see that they'll have time to continue their storylines as we'll get no closure in the finale

Good news I guess. Any chance of Tyler getting offed in the finale of this season?

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

V has been getting better. If they could just ditch Tyler, it might have a chance at being decent. Hopefully they'll have a little more in the budget for better green screening too.

Flashforward isn't officially cancelled yet, but I imagine corporate mentality coupled with lackluster ratings means that only one of the candidates to be the Lost's replacement will be kept around. Hopefully we'll get a movie or something to give it some sort of ending. I would suggest that SyFy pick it up, but between all those movies from The Asylum, wrasslin', and cooking shows, they probably don't have any openings in their schedule.

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

I'm glad they went with this over FF. I don't think either one was particularly deserving of renewal, but V doesn't actively annoy or bore me like FF. I've been FFing through a good chunk of the last few eps of FF.

It may not be at the top of my tivo list, but I'll stick around for a second season of V. I couldn't say that about FF.

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

There really isn't much good sci-fi on TV anymore. V is kitchy more than anything, but at least it's sci-fi. I'm still hoping FIOS picks up BBC-HD one of these days so I can see Doctor Who in HD. Ah, well...

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

I am wondering what would be a good route for V to take next season. Any chance of Tyler getting killed within the first two episodes?

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

I still can't believe we've had a full season of V and STILL haven't had one big action sequence. Good to know it'll make a return. I really had high hopes for Flash Forward but they meandered too long in the setup. Maybe they will be an 11th hour reprieve, but I doubt it.

Re: "V" renewed for 2nd season

I need to get caught up on the last two episodes and will then decide if I'll continue watching next season. I really cannot stand that whiney teen.
