I actually liked it more after the retooling. But its L&O, it just needs to have its usual level of consistency, which it never lost.

The reboot IMO is definitely better than the 1st 8 episodes that aired last Fall.

Some bad news for those who do watch:

Spoiler:
Rene Balcer, LOLA's showrunner, says the season finale will end on a cliffhanger with TJ's fate left uncertain.

Re: Law and Order: LA -- "Runyon Canyon" -- 5/09/11

It was better after the reboot and I liked it, but still not anywhere near as good as the last 2 seasons of Regular Law and Order, which was the best that show had been in years.

I'm still ticked they got rid of the original show for LOLA, they had a great cast that had some of the best chemistry since the Lenny days. Looks like SVU will be the only one left and that has gotten really bad the last few years (assuming SVU makes it to next year).

Law and Order: LA -- "Hayden Tract" -- 5/16/11

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
By djariya at 2011-04-18

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
When a crazed gunman (Shawn Hatosy, Southland) open fires during a rally with State Senator Celeste Kelman (guest star Jennifer Riker), seven innocent people are killed including the Senator. With the help of modern technology, the detectives identify a solid lead and possible motive for the shooting. At the DDA's office, tensions are running high when Dekker (Terrence Howard) and Rubirosa (Alana de la Garza) disagree on how to handle the case. Meanwhile, TJ gets himself into a sticky situation as he continues his quest to find his dead partner's killer.

Episode 20 of 22

Also, cancelled last week. Just when it was getting really good.

^^ The Plot sounds loosely based on the Gabrielle Giffords story, the Arizona Senator who was shot.

I like Shawn Hatosy alot from Southland. Interesting to see him play a bad guy this week.

No 2 more episodes will air next week. Then they will burn off episodes 9-13, which were shot with Skeet Ulrich, but have not aired yet.

Re: Law and Order: LA -- "Hayden Tract" -- 5/16/11

Watched this episode before I dozed off.

This was a great episode. Shawn Hatosy from Southland was excellent playing the psychopath. Such a huge departure from his Sammy character.

I thought Joe was a major asshole in this episode.

The "B" plot with TJ trying to get revenge on Vargas was also good. Loved the parking lot fight scene where he took out both of those gang members.

at TJ squeezing the gang member's "Cajones" Also, how the hell is he able to sneak away from work multiple days in the middle of a trial?

I have a feeling the finale is going to end on a cliffhanger about TJ trying to stop Vargas.

Because of how much I've enjoyed this, I decided to watch Criminal Intent on USA and that is also great. I think I might re-visit the earlier seasons on Netflix. It's only an 8 episode final season, so I recommend checking it out if you have time. They re-air on NBC starting May 30th.

Sucks that LA is ending soon.

Looks like NBC is burning off LA this week. Episode on Monday, Wednesday and a double header on Sunday. Hope the other episodes (planned for the summer) still air.

As for CI, I'll set my DVR as well, thanks. Is that the one with Jeff Goldblum?

That was a great scene.

It's too bad this show didn't get a lot of time to find it's footing, but I guess that's the reality of the network TV biz these days. They had some growing pains, but I think it could have turned into a really good show. Oh, well.

Yeah they still have 5 episodes to burn off (9-13) with Skeet Ulrich that were skipped. Hell, they have nothing to lose airing them.

CI has Vincent D'Onofrio. He was an original cast member and left a few seasons ago, but came back for the final season. Goldblum was the lead last season and left. The premiere is a Charlie Sheen themed episode.

I hope they still get aired. At this point, I still see it happening.

I'll see if I can get to it. Might do it tomorrow. FYI, CI is still airing new episodes on USA Sundays. The NBC re-airs will be on Mondays at 9pm.

LOL the only thing I care about in those 5 remaining Skeet Ulrich episodes is if they got the rest of the cast of Jericho to guest star.

Re: Law and Order: LA -- "Big Rock Mesa" -- 5/23/11

the tv guide listings I use didn't show this or tomorrows as being new
but the descriptions didn't sound familiar so I recorded it anyway

watching now, was that Denise Crosby at the beginning as one of the people trying to get back to their houses?

So last week the episode ended with bald whitey's phone on his bed? I thought he was in Mexico or something, and then this week it's back to normal?

Did I miss something?

I never would have recognized Crosby if I hadn't seen her name in the credits. Lots of good actors in this ep.: Crosby, Tergesen, & Whitford.

No you didn't miss anything.

I'm going to assume tonight we'll hear the drug dealer's dead so we know why Mr. "Bring back the pornstache" wasn't answering his phone.

This is the final produced episode of the "Re-Boot" so technically this is the series finale.

Next week begins the burnoff of episodes 9-13 that have yet to air.

On a positive note, TJ's porn stache will make it's triumphant return.
