In this ep, after the ox part they had to swim to a boat, you weren't doing that with your backpack, so there had to be a backpack drop zone somewhere near the fruitstand.

Aren't you allowed to do whatever you want pretty much during the 12 hour mandatory rest? I would think the father/daughter would have the opportunity to go back and retrieve their packs.

The cowboys were very lucky after a couple of stupid moves. The cops are definitely a tough team, but I still don't like them.

Team used to be able to beg random people on the street/hotels for money during the pit stops and talk/socialize with the other teams. They stopped allowing the begging during the pit stops a while back and I think stopped the socializing of the teams last couple of seasons. Dan and Andrew (the hapless frat boys) were not allowed or did not go back and get their shoes a couple of seasons back and had to purchase new shoes so I don't think they can go back.

Here is the reason why they have overruns of sports. CBS would love to overrun each week if they could.

Sometimes in the interview segments, Brent looks like a post-too much plastic surgery Michael Jackson.

I thought because they were traveling during that leg between tasks and before getting to the pit stop, they were shit out of luck.

There are times he looks like he should be wearing the crow make-up that he looks like Brandon Lee.

I actually burst out laughing when he said "I think it's anonymous that the other teams want them gone"

I have always wanted TAR to have a "behind the scenes" after the race is finished. It would be interesting to see what the teams do in their downtime (besides sleep).

That -- plus showing some of the planning/logistics like what the camera guys go through, how they organize the local 'challenge runners', and how Phil manages each leg -- would be fascinating to watch.

This. I've always wanted to see a "Making Of" The Amazing Race.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Phil is frequently whisked away from Pit Stops after checking in the last team so that he can get to the next country before the first place team gets there.

I'm pretty sure that only applied to the first few seasons, especially when there could've been 12 hours or more between teams (24+ hours in season 1!). They do a lot of things to bunch everyone up now.

the amazing race asia does show a behind the scene episode after the final. the participants are shown socialising and touring the country they're in.
