The Simpsons -- "The Greatest Story Ever Doh'd" -- 03/28/10

"The Greatest Story Ever Doh'd"
Spoiler:
When Homer is playing noisily in the yard, it disrupts Flanders' bible-study group. Coaxed by the reverend, a frustrated Flanders takes it upon himself to redeem Homer by inviting the Simpson family on his church retreat to Jerusalem. Unappreciative of the history and culture, Homer would rather hang out at the hotel's breakfast buffet rather than tour the city. However, when an eccentric tour guide takes the group to famous monuments, including the Dome of the Rock and the Wailing Wall, Homer finally proves he is not beyond salvation.

The tour guide was a horrible character and really killed this episode.

The episode wasn't that interesting but the tour guide just sucked. The only thing that made me laugh was the Vegitales characters.

I thought last week's episode was pretty average, but tonight's was pretty bad. I blame the tour guide character; he was terrible and ruined the flow of the episode.

On the plus side, I enjoyed Homer and Flanders sort of getting along at the end.

I nominate The Tour Guy as the most annoying Simpsons character ever.

The tour guide wasn't even the worst offense of this episode.

The worst offense is that stupidflanders.org doesn't exist!

WORST. EPISODE. EVER.

Weird episode that started off okay, but nose-dived into shit once they got to Israel. It didn't help that they really pulled their punches, whereas most of the other travel episodes, even the bad ones, are a lot more brutal to where they're visiting.

Didn't see the episode, but that title is one of the best ever. Still chuckling.

I did when Flanders called it the happiest place on earth.

He wasn't funny and was really annoying. Even without him, the episode wasn't that good.

Re: The Simpsons -- "The Greatest Story Ever Doh'd" -- 03/28/10

Not a good episode at all!! YUCK!! Was this written for Hebrew speaking people? because it seemed like most of the episode was one big inside joke.

I did like Homer's line "So you want me to take my family to a war zone for vacation"

It was him. I'm thinking his shtick doesn't translate well to animation.

Re: The Simpsons -- "The Greatest Story Ever Doh'd" -- 03/28/10

Felt like 100 unrelated scenes tangentially related to Israel jumbled into one episode. I kept waiting for the tour guide character to pay off and it never did; they played it straight which didn't work at all.
